Taycan RWD w/ PB+ and 20" aero rims.

on Pirelli NF0:

averaged 300+ miles on a full charge in peak hot summer and 240 miles in peak cold winter.

assistance systems ALK followed roads almost perfectly.

steering response crisp

tires worn out after 20,000 miles

switched to Michelin CrossClimate 2:

these CC2 tires in summer are barely getting 245 miles range on a full charge. no idea what will happen when temps drop

assistance systems dangerously poor with car bouncing between sides of lane, failing to follow road curves reliably, and making sudden steering corrections (vs smooth corrections before)

steering response good, but not as precise.

acceleration is a little quicker.

sound is remarkably quiet almost no noise from tires. when really pushed hard accelerating thru a long curve, can hear a slight whoosh. otherwise silent.

biggest issue is loss of reliable assistance systems, and almost 20% loss of range

Q: What has been your experience with different tires?

Perhaps, for the Range especially, it is better to always use a tyre designed for electric vehicles ie NF0.

Didn’t know there were tires designed for EVs. What are the best tires from for highest range and what are the trade-offs?

Only tyres labeled NF0, NF1 and NF2 are approved/recommended by Porsche for the Taycan. They are especially designed for handling, extra weight of EV, quietness and for range.
I personally use Michelin Pilot Sport 4 for my summer tyres and Goodyear Ultragrip for my winter tyres. Obviously in the NF0 versions.

When I got my tyres changed at around 17k, I could only get eagle F1s in NA0 spec (911 spec). I lost around 7% range but picked up significant wet and dry grip. Clearly NA0 tyres are not geared to EV range like the NF0s are but I much prefer the higher grip compromise .

Cross Climate 2 tires are for people who see deep snow seasonally and light snow frequently but don't want two sets of tires. For winter tires they're not the best, but are better than many dedicated winter tires.

There will be a mileage penalty for using them, because while they're optimized for performance in all weather conditions they are not optimized for low rolling resistance.

They will be the second set of tires on our Cross Turismo because where we live the snow season is long and the fall/spring months can bring quite random weather. They are appropriate for our lifestyle.

But then I know that efficiency will be a tradeoff and am more than willing to pay the price for the additional safety.

Based on my excellent experience with CC2 on my Audi A6 Allroad, I swapped out the OEM summers on my used 2022 4CT for the CC2, in 20".
Range, definitely some hit, but I haven't calculated it carefully. Not as dramatic as OP reports.
Dry handling, I know this is blasphemy, but I don't notice any difference compared to the summers.
ADAS unchanged. And now way are the issues being reported here coming from a tire model swap in the same size. Sounds scary, but can't be the fault of the CC2.

I once had CC2 on another vehicle, and they were phenomenal, which is why I had them placed on the Taycan.

The shop says the Taycon needs a full alignment, to do a sensor calibration.

after the very costly realignment. I was told it was slightly in the red in some place and now in the green. but the castor.was in red and still is because it cannot be corrected. (is this is normal)

Starting to look for the tires I’ll use this winter. I’m in SF Bay Area so it’s not unusual that we’ll see temperatures in the 60s-70s, but I drive up to the Sierras with snow. Most of you still happy with the CrossClimate 2?
