Good luck, and be prepared for the car to stay at the port a bit if it's MY2022. My 2022 RWD arrived in Benicia on Glovis Stella on 12/3, and just got released from the port on 12/18. MY2023 seems to be released quicker since it doesn't need uPdate to be performed.

If it came earlier, would you be out of town WITH the Taycan? If not, it seems like a small difference if it sits in your garage (or the airport parking lot) or at the dealer.

No, I would not as I'll be flying out of the country.
I would just get to drive around a little bit in this freezing condition...

This way maybe better, the dealership has ample time to do PDI and get PPF on for me and not do a rush job just to get the car delivered.

Glovis Clipper just got to SD. Port date for Benicia moved up to the 23rd!

My car was on the Glovis Clipper, and unloaded in San Diego.

TYD was showing delivery to the dealership would happen this Friday the 23rd, but updated early today to Jan 20, which is a Friday four weeks out. Probably (I hope) a fake estimate. At the time it also didn't say my car was unloaded in San Diego.

I checked TYD again this afternoon and now it shows the current step is "Port Processing" with a completion date of today. Hopefully that means it won't be held at the port for several weeks and that TYD was just jumping the gun on time estimates. My contact at the dealership indicated that he didn't see any delays which would keep my car at the port and thinks I should be able to still collect it this month.

Did you put the non-refundable deposit down in time to claim the $7,500 credit? If so, will picking it up next year mean you have to claim in in 2024 instead of 2023? Could you buy it “remotely” to get the credit a year sooner?

Yes, and I’ve completed all the paperwork on Monday 12/19 - I even have the insurance coverage started even though I won’t be driving the car yet. So Dec 2022 will be my “delivery date” on paper…

The Glovis Clipper is, as of 9:45PM Pacific time today, off Santa Cruz. At normal speed, that means it arrives into the SF Bay around Thursday morning at 2AM, and could be in Benicia by 4AM Thursday 22 December. That's earlier than the last ETA I saw, which was 23 December.

As much as I wanted to, for no good reason, wave at the ship as it passed under the Benicia bridge, I don't think I'll wake up at 2AM to do so.

Scratch that. The Glovis Clipper is burning time by drifting around offshore at 1-2knots of speed. I am guessing that they will simpy burn time until their assigned arrival/unloading slot as opposed to trying to get an earlier one.

I'm on the Glovis Clipper as well, waiting for arrival at Benecia. TYD just updated delivery to my SF Bay Area dealer to 1/13 from 1/6. Anyone else seeing that?

I took an easy route and have Porsche Bellevue do the full front PPF, maybe more expensive than taking the car to do it myself but this way it’s ready when I come back and pickup the car. I didn’t do anything with windshield. Who is your dealership?

Got it.

Porsche Bellingham. I am thinking of windshield as well since I have had a few incidents (rocks/gravel flying on WA 520) with my current car and had to replace the windshield once in 3 years of ownership. Luckily I had bought windshield protection when I originally purchased the car.
