I don't know of any car that has an electric frunk that you can open fully automatically. I would suspect this is a safety measure, ensuring you have to physically unlatch it.There are many 3-party Electric Frunk for Tesla, but did anyone know where we can find the component for Taycan?
the 3rd party solutions, just like soft close door.I don't know of any car that has an electric frunk that you can open fully automatically. I would suspect this is a safety measure, ensuring you have to physically unlatch it.
Vehicle safety regulations vary enormously from country to country.I don't know of any car that has an electric frunk that you can open fully automatically. I would suspect this is a safety measure, ensuring you have to physically unlatch it.

totally agree! just curiousVehicle safety regulations vary enormously from country to country.
I am sure this would be illegal here since the potential for a catastrophe is horrifying.
Safety rules aren’t very consistent though. Pedestrian safety regulations for cars are strict but don’t apply to commercial vehicles![]()
Interesting. As it's 3rd party, I wonder if gets around safety laws? As @f1eng says, this likely illegal in many countries, and almost certainly illegal across Europe.the 3rd party solutions, just like soft close door.
That would make them illegal in the UK, I believe, so the spec may well be market dependant. The teslas (at least the model 3 and Y) don't have a safety latch like the Taycan.
I thought the same was the case here (I'm in Denmark but my wifes TM3 is from Germany). But I just tested and it opens right up after you release it from the app. My Taycan and every other car I've had have a safety latch you need to move before it opens. That would make them illegal in the UK, I believe, so the spec may well be market dependant.
Nothing would persuade me to drive a car where that could happen. But I just tested and it opens right up after you release it from the app.
