Electric Sound Always on?

That is correct. It is designed to function that way.You have to twist the wheel for every drive. I do it every time. It is habit now.

It's honestly horrible design. And for those of us without Individual mode, I assign a button to sport sound and make a habit of turning it on at the beginning of each drive. Sucks that I have to do so, but that's how Porsche has designed it.

Anybody knows if Porsche has somekind of "wish list", where one would be able to write sugestions for software improvements?
I mean, "personal settings" should work exactly as set - individually. That's why they are "personal", right?

If you long-press the diamond key on the steering wheel or the instrument display, it will pop up a choice of key to assign (steering wheel or the instrument display), followed by a selector for which function will be assigned.

IMHO, depends on circumstances.
I’m driving through some areas where I wanted to be heard by animals, cyclists and hikers…. that‘s why I selected it. And I’m going to use it for sure.

The external sound is standard and required by law...I believe the sport sound is just for the people in cabin.

Not quite, turning on the sport sound also makes the exterior sound louder.

There is a sound that the electric motors make that is not as insulated as some other electric cars, so that I believe is loud enough to satisfy the reg requirements in jurisdictions. Sport sound involves a separate speaker that projects a louder sound based on the activity in the motor.

I have both the sound and regen switched on in the settings "individual mode". And every time I get into my car I turn the dial on the steering wheel to get my preferred settings. These settings are also available in "normal mode" but not saved if you change them. Although I read in another thread that regen stays on now after the big 2021 update. Don't know if the sound does also.

If you have individual mode(not sure if all Taycans have it), you can set those preferences under that drive mode and always switch to it.

My dealer said ( and although they try, they are very limited in Taycan knowledge) they must be activated. Tech programmed the steering wheel button for sound. Said regen must be engaged. I don’t know enough to agree with him or disagree….just grateful to have car back after being in shop for electronic fixes.

Thanks for reminding me. Dealer put both in my individual mode as well.
