Had it a few times and normally when the port door closes and meets an obstruction such as the DC flap is open or when inserting the charging cable.

Error clears when you power off, lock and then start up.

I had this error yesterday, first in the AC-only port on the driver's side. I have the power charging port covers. The door would not open and the error message posted whenever the car was powered on. I tried powering off, locking the car, and letting it sit 30 minutes as other have done, but that didn't fix the issue.

Last night, I decided to try charging from the other AC/DC port side. The charge port door only opened partway and stopped. The error message when powering on the car became plural "charging ports impaired". The right door repeatedly only opened part way.

I also tried opening the doors using the center console buttons. No luck there either.

I made an emergency service appointment for today, but when I left for the appointment, I tried opening the doors... and they both worked.

So if anyone else encounters this error, I suggest waiting a few hours (not just locking and restarting the car) to see if that resolves it.

I suspect the issue actually originated on the AC/DC side, where the door was not fully seating, which caused the other door to refuse to open (as both doors are prohibited from opening at the same time). The error message doesn't specify which door is having the issue. So one potential solution is if one door is failing to open and the car is throwing this error, try opening and closing the door on the opposite side to resolve the issue.

In my case, both ports opened well.

In my case I'd get (albeit only happened 3-4 times in one year) the impaired error because the LHS (LHD) AC port door would not close and bounce back open on every attempt (no obstructions, just a fault etc) and the error would say DC port impaired simply because the car won't allow both doors to be open at the same time, hence I could not DC charge with this situation active.

Found a way around it by interrupting the very first appearance of the door as it started to close and this somehow forced the sensor to reset and properly close the door (took a bit of experimentation!).

Long and short of it was that I had a faulty sensor in one (electric opening) door and they replaced it - no issues since.

I’m using passenger’s port only since it better suits me in my garage.
I think to talk about that when i’ll have maintenance check at 30k km later this month…on the other hand I don’t want to leave car to them for days…

Yep, I too only use the LHS AC only port for 99% of my charging, also at home - but it was that door that failed - def ask them to look as it might just be an early sign of a sensor issue (and well documented enough in their Tech Bulletins by now to be known to them).
