The supplied charger is extremely sensitive to ground faults (which aren't really ground faults). Mine does this if I open or close the garage door while charging or turn on the landscaping lights, both of which are on the same circuit.

At my vacation home I have a Chargepoint and never have a problem with that.
Any sort of prize for quoting a post ~2.5 yrs old?

Seriously though, my searching upon a mysterious charging error led me to this thread.
I had previously used the Porsche OEM EVSE for L1 charging at five different houses, with no problems (and a somewhat useful ~1.4% SoC gain / hr).

But then, at one of those houses where I had previously charged successfully, error message, huh?
Looked at this thread, saw this post, ah hah: a friend was charging his Prius on the same circuit.
Unplugged my friend's Prius, and the problem went away.
(The service at that detached garage is being upgraded next week with a 100a subpanel to support a hard-wired Tesla Universal unit.)

However, yesterday evening, at house number six ... nothing worked.
Modern house, 200a panel in garaged looked great, tried plugging it into one outlet directly, didn't work, tried multiple other outlets with an extension cord, still didn't work.
One explanation could be that the one outlet we tried directly was kind of ... loose. The others were fine, but perhaps the Porsche EVSE doesn't like extension cords?
(Fortunately, made no difference, since I needed to stop on the drive back regardless of whether I successfully L1 charged overnight, and the Brewster NY Magic Dock is reliable, unlike EA and its generally miserable competition out here.)

I was having an issue where it would only charge about 10% at a time, and then get either charging error or charging initializing.

I was using a hardwired Tesla wall charger with a lectron tesla to j1772 adapter as my permanent charging solution with no problems for the last couple years.

I replaced it with a hardwired ChargePoint wall charger, and the issue seems to be resolved. Not sure if the problem was the Tesla charger or the adapter, but nevertheless replacing the wall charger fixed my problem, and it's a nicer solution than what I had before.
