Yesterday I stopped by a nearby EA station with a 350 kw charger to try out fast-charging on my 2022 4S. I had already signed up for the charging plan in my My Porsche account online prior to leaving for the station and it said it was active and expires in December 2022.
When I arrived at the station and plugged in, charging did not start on its own. I got the screen with "Manual/Member" tabs at the top on the charger. I opened the Charging NA app and tried to initiate the charge from there. I found the station and it seemed to be communicating with the app but then after a period of time the app said there was an "Unexpected Error" and charging did not start. I tried several times and I did also try another charger but the same problem happened each time.
I then called the support number for EA and they were able to start the charging session relatively easily and it worked well. With a 45% SOC I was able to achieve as high as 210 kW of charging speed before it began to taper off to around 160 kW above 50% SOC. I charged up to 95% and headed home without further issues.
I'm hoping that the reason I couldn't initiate the charge myself was that my car is currently having connectivity issues with a red blinking SOS light and inability to login into the car with my Porsche ID. Maybe once this is resolved it will work properly.
