Now that the Tesla system is opening up, starting with Ford, I'm curious if anyone else has tried one of the NACS supercharger to CCS adapters. I'm aware that Ford uses plug and charge, but other manufacturers do not, so in theory as long as they allow you to initiate charge from the app, it should work.

Just curious if anyone else is trying to push the official timeline and test on their own. Fingers crossed that this sort of a hack does work.

people who have tested it show that it does not work unless your vehicle/manufacturer is "authorized" by Tesla - to date only Ford/Rivian products will successfully start a charging session at a supercharger.

when the charge session is initiated (either by plug&charge or app based) there is some initial handshaking done and during that period Tesla determines if your vehicle is authorized.

we're all going to have to wait for Tesla to enable charging for VW/Audi/Porsche vehicles.

Bumping this up, is it worth "risking" getting a Vortex plug that is half the price of the Vortex Plus which is the exact UL Certified plug that the official Porsche adapter is branded with?
What is the risk? from what i understand there is a small difference in the locking mechanism of the CCS side and the UL cert.

UPDATE: After more reading online, it seems that Lectron had recalls to these adapters and it's not easy to see which one is good after the recall because the serial numbers are confusing.. so i guess the Plus is the safer choice here.

I have the Lectron plus version. These are passive units, so any brand would work. Here's a guide. The key safety feature are locks on both ends.

My car charging on a J3400 handle on an Alpitronic unit.

from my understanding they have locking issues, or lack of locking on the tesla side, this is the recall, do you have one of these?
