I have also lost all confidence in Porsche.. A Range Rover would be more reliable !!
One issue after another, in just 7 moths of ownership.
1 - Smart Connectivity/ route planner failure (did not synchronise with the car) - driving across Europe last summer. I had extreme range anxiety, on several occasions, with as little a as 5km left on the battery. Porsche and the dealer tried to resolve matters.. They could not. They acknowledged connectivity failure issues (that are hopefully resolved now). They offered me a goodwill gesture of £250. I spent that on excess charging.

2 - Software Update - The car was recalled in November.

3. - Heating failure. The heating failed before Christmas. I stuck it out until it got too cold.

Enterprise delivered a Renault with a dodgy and dangerous accelerator pedal. I complained after 2 weeks, they replaced it. They did not have any premium cars initially because other Taycan owners had them.

My car has now been with Porsche East London for 3 weeks, with no word of the repair date.. This is totally unacceptable.

The Taycan Turismo reminds me of my Alfa Spider, which was great - but I never knew if it would start, or which part would fail next. You expect this from older Alfa Romeo’s… you do not expect this from Porsche.

I have complained to Porsche. I am waiting for their response. I’m upset and pissed off. We had some great trips planned now. We are not going.
Overeact much? Alfa Spyder? Has your Taycan ever failed to start and drive?

#1 and #2 above, oh horrors…. Those are nothing issues.
#3 is a valid issue, but shit happens. You bought a first generation of an entirely ground up new platform. There will be issues. And there will be supply chain problems during a period including a ww pandemic and a major war. There are far more important supply challenges in the world right now than the heater cores of our $150,000 luxury cars.

The heather on my 4S failed as well. Waiting already for 4 weeks to get a spare. Is the second major breakdown of my car (less then 25.000 km). Previously the main high voltage converter broke down - took them 6 weeks to get the car up and running. Porsche leaves its customers twice in the cold - sourcing a heather not up to the job and being unable to come up with a solution for weeks. Never seen that with our 5 year old Tesla X
Yep it’s a complete Disgrace loved the car at one time but the quicker I can get rid the better over 14 Taycan sitting in dealers compound to be fixed the car and brand is becoming a joke

You’re right.

My car spent 2.5 months at the dealership.

Replacement:-
>rear transmission drive unit
>HV charger
>HV booster
>HV heater
>antenna cable
+ 3 other recall items!

This is my 4S CT AFTER the rear transmission drive unit change. Horrendous drone in 1st gear from 50 to 70mph…in the video, at 4 seconds it changes from 1st to 2nd and at 20 seconds it changes back to 1st. sport and sport+ are a no go.

£115k!!… LOL … I’m not one to moan, but, really?!

Those 3 issues are more a testimonial of strenght.
The heatergate sucks, (mine still works for now) the connected part is wonky and services suffer regularly. At least 2x a week I need to tell my daughter Spotify doesn’t work.
Rear spoiler raised > fixed
Combox broken > fixed
rear camera leak > to be fixed
frunk cover not aligned > fixed

further, knock on wood, no issues, it has been fantasti..

Hi all,

Does this problem concern Taycan with or without the heat pump option? Or both ?

Mine has the heat pump (it was standard in the US), and has the fault. Not sure whether it is specific, but it sounded like it was a valve unit for the heat pump system that was the problem (and the move to drop the heat pump option from other VW group EVs here suggests that might be the part that is hard to source).

The heater has now gone in mine… in for up to 6 weeks according to the dealer! Good news, enterprise gave me a Jeep that smells of smoke!!!
This is the second time, it went in December but was apparently a pressure sensor. Nevertheless, the car reported an electrical malfunction and wouldn’t move as it didn’t know the temperature of the batteries. The unusual switch off and on again after 15 mins gave some respite until it was fixed. It’s been back to the dealer 6 times in 14 months and I have lost confidence in it, which is a real shame because it’s an amazing drive and I do love it!!
I am worried about the repair costs after the warranty period and will probably sell it then.

This is totally my feeling. I am waiting on the heater parts, but still have the vehicle. Now the front right turn signal & parking light unit is reporting as defective (they can't even look at that for 3 weeks, and think it will take a minimum of a few days to fix). I've lost track of the number of times I've visited the dealer with this car. It has certainly spent more days in the shop in the almost 2 years I've had it than any other car I've owned.

Yet, when it is working it is a truly amazing car.

Well, my heater went this week. Car at dealer with no ETA for parts. Dealer said Last one took one month. My loaner is a brand new base model Macan....what a disappointing car but Dealer will swap for loaner taycan monday. Can't wait to be in Electric again.

I have a question for the group. For the folks that have had their heater go out, were you using the HVAC system in normal mode or in eco mode? I wonder if that makes a difference. In reading the different threads it seems the units or something in them are overheating and failing when it is really cold or a lot of heat is needed. I have a 2022 CT4 with about 16K miles and run mine in eco mode 100% of the time and fingers crossed, no issues yet. I think it reduces the output of the heater unit, so maybe that helps.
just thought I would throw that out there to see if other are doing the same.
