Hi all.
Update on my brand Taycan GTS which I’ve not yet collected. Registered on 2.12.22 when they found out heating issue. As I’ve said before, build date for mine was 07.11.22.

Dealer dropped off a brand new Panamera E-Hybrid Sports Tourer on 9.1.23. Lovely car but not quite a Taycan.

Email today from Dealer to say they are optimistic I can collect later next week. So it would have been 6 weeks since I should have collected the car but glad it’s getting sorted.

Interesting thread. I wasn't aware this was such a big problem. My 2020 Taycan is currently in for heating failure - i was driving at night and couldn't see anything out of any windows. Had to stop and buy a cloth but it didnt help! If i hadn't been near home, id have needed the car recovering - it was so unsafe. Car went in 3rd Jan. Parts still on back order with no date given. The dealership told me it might be 'a long time'. Not too concerned as i was given a Taycan to drive in the meantime.

A friend of mine's car has also just been recovered by Porsche assist this week for the same thing, to the same dealership. No date given for fixing it. Thats 2 more cars to add to the growing list!

I should add that in the 2 years I've owned the car, its not had any other problems!

Heater just died. Was unable to charge as well - probably because it is so cold here? Dropped off at dealer yesterday but likely the same issue. Do we think this is related to the software update? Seems to be a recent spike…

Add me to the list of failed heaters.

Maybe the spike is related to a combination of:
- More Taycan's on the road
- Northern Hemisphere winter

Update: spoke w dealer. He said they had 17 in the shop (Porsche West London) with the same issue, and can’t get to my car for 2 weeks - at which point they hope they have the part. Seems Porsche is well aware of the issue but don’t have enough parts to do a recall), also 2021/2022 was milder so fewer cars w this issue, and lastly none repaired have returned to the shop (which suggests they fixed the part).

Another one here, Taycan Turbo, 4000 miles, UK (and second time it's gone pop!). Went in early December (I believe) and still waiting for a fix.

Those who have had it fail, do you run a charging timer? If so, is it set for daily departure.

After ~1 month waiting for the part I brought my car in for repairs last Friday at 8am and had the car back by 2pm. Heater's working great now and I can finally use the climate control features on the car :D

When will Porsche finally issue a recall??
I hope they do issue a recall eventually if every car has a potential early failure but they would be totally mad to do it at the moment when they don't even have enough parts and personnel to fix the ones that have broken already.

And since a 2023 assembled on Nov 6 already had its heater fail, before a recall Porsche needs to figure out the root cause of the heating failure. Not clear that has occurred.

Dropped mine off this morning at one of the two dealers in Cincinnati. He said he had three others in for heater failures. Said that was about 1/3 of what they'd sold in the past couple of years.

UK based people - try Porsche Reading - the rumour is they placed a batch order and cleared their back-log. I was told 2-3 weeks and ended up being 5 days (w/c 9 January I think it was). I have also heard that Mayfair/West London has a huge back log. Really is a scandal!

I wondered this too, but as @O2TheL says, the timing may well be just a factor of winter being when people notice that their heater is not working. Here in northern California, I hadn't needed the heater until mid-December, which was when we first noticed it wasn't working. I have no idea when it actually failed.
