Helix + Audison audio upgrade

My other Porsches have jl subs and amps. It does not even compare to this stock system. The mini sub in this system does not pack a punch at all...

The speakers themselves are quite low build quality, light and cheap.. my 992 had the same.

You will hear the rattles more than the bass on this.

No contests. No rattling. Just proper low end and quality sound required.

Right side is a HQ burmester speaker... These were placed in my 992 with dampening/ sound proofing and the difference is mind-blowing.

I have the burmester system and would like to upgrade it. My local audio guy recommends a combination of hertz/audison speakers with a dsp in the trunk. Would only upgrading the speakers + subwoofer be a smart choice or is the DSP a must? The DSP involves a lot more work due to additional cables etc...

Depends on why you want to upgrade. You mentioned "lack of bass." If that's all you want to address and budget is of concern, then just start by replacing the subwoofer like others have done. It's the cheapest and quickest way to improve bass.

If you want to improve overall quality, then I'd say yes, a good DSP is where you should start. This way, the whole system will sound better.

Agree that car acoustics are lacking, my solution is iPad Mini into Chord Mojo 2 DAC into Beyerdynamic T1 open ear headphones.
Since the DAC has dual outputs, may include a JBL BassPro Go in subwoofer mode.

The frameless windows will rattle on the Taycan, they already do on all the cars with the Burmester with the bass cranked up.
e-tron GT is even worse.

Get the car rattle free with the burmester sub first (no idea how to do that without re-engineering the door), otherwise all you will hear is the window rattle next to your ear when you go bigger.
