I was a little concerned about leaving my car in my drive for 6 weeks while on holiday.
I needn't have worried. Left car with 71% state of charge and returned home to 71%.
Much better than I had thought and I even checked on app from time to time.
Not sure if universal for all, but I'm certainly very confident leaving car standing now.

This is how it should be. The car should not drop, so called Display SoC reading when left parked.
Please share the year of your Taycan and miles/km driven.

That’s great and agree that’s how it should be. I thought mine was dropping but I believe now it’s due to the surprising amount of energy use for cabin pre-heat/cool, even the setting where it activates when unlocking/locking the car. Ironically you have to do that when plugging in/unplugging, so I’ve disabled it.

Mine sleeps outside. The max without driving was 2 weeks but I had no drop in battery percentage over that period

That's good to hear. I have left my MY20 Turbo for almost six months without issue. This is the process I have followed, based on dealer advice. Curious if anyone has been given different expert advice?

I put the Taycan up on tire saver ramps at +5psi (six months likely wouldn't damage modern high performance tires, but better safe than buy a new set of expensive rubber prematurely).

State of charge limit: 40-60%. I picked 50%
Level two left plugged in
Avoid 'checking in'. Polling the car with Porsche Connect wakes up systems

Porsche battery management will then maintain main (and by extension, 12V) battery conditioning.

I had inquired about using 120V on a heavy duty cord, thinking that might be the equivalent of a 'trickle charger.' It was explained to me that that was neither more efficient nor safer and that the short, gentle increments of battery management from the level two charging was preferable, although both would work.

My understanding is the main problem have with leaving the car even for short periods of a couple of weeks is the 12V battery that goes to sleep if it drops too much, not the main battery. Left the car to two weeks and while the main battery was fine, the car was dead and I had to get in via the fuse box to the 12V battery to revive it. I know many others have had similar problems leaving the car at an airport or station.

I found the technical service bulletin that my dealer was referring to. I'll put up a separate post so it doesn't get lost in this thread.

Bottom line: the 12 V battery in our Taycan's is a specially designed lithium ion unit that is integrated into the charging infrastructure of the car. With the vehicle plugged in, it's charge will be maintained along with the main battery.

I travel a lot and my car sits unplugged for weeks at a time without problem. It is only for months at a time storage that I worry about the special procedure.

That’s not been my experience or that reported by many others.

It’s what’s supposed to happen.

But as we know this car is basically a giant computer that has “bugs and glitches” every once and a while.

Sometimes the bug means you have to reset your pcm screen. Sometimes it means your 12v doesn’t charge properly.

One is a bigger deal than the other.

I have previously left my Taycan plugged in with a 65% charge on the Timer; however, with a recent update that doesn’t work any longer. The first night it charges to 65%, the second night it reverts to direct charge to 100% grrrrr. I haven’t yet fig out how to overcome this.

So your car is faulty then.
I left my car for 7 weeks last year, not plugged in, zero issues.

There is a recall for 12V battery sensor though, so for sure there are many cars affected, but it doesn't change that they're broken, this is not normal.

Don’t use the timer. Delete the timer and set the general profile to 65%.
