I am just unlucky, or is this a common theme?

So I've had my lovely Taycan for 6 months now, and I've completed 7k miles without issue.

HOWEVER -

I am now familiar with most of the other Taycans in my area (Woldingham Surrey area), I've not had a single person nod, wave, or even smile back to me when I've attempted to do so.

This is my first Taycan, and I would have thought like most of niche cars on the road there is a group solidarity for each other that would warrant at least a smile or nod. Is this not the case with a Porsche?
I must be reading this wrong as I cannot reconcile "lovely Taycan...7K miles without issue" as being "unlucky." The lady doth protest too much, methinks. A reminder: its just a car.

I guess they just can't catch up with me to say hi.

But seriously, there aren't too many around here, everyone drives Teslas. What I DO get is attention from everyone else... It's wild!

…. and words from strangers about how cool “your” car is (I’m constantly hearing that).

As earlier mentioned, around London Taycans don't really raise much attention any longer, except from tourists who presumably don't see much of them at home.

While at a rapid charger a friendly old lady out with her dog stopped to chat though and kept raving on about how beautiful of a car it is:)

First day on a road trip here in California and beyond, in a rented Jeep Wrangler… and just about every other Wrangler driver waves. And there’s tons of them here, probably at least 30 waves today. We as Taycan owners need to step it up and start waving more.

I also saw a Taycan today and waved but that was a little weird being that we were in the Wrangler. ?

Couple of kids came to my car last week while I was waiting for my wife finish her shopping spree. One of them knocked on the window and asked if he could take a picture of the car.

Really sweet to be honest. I considered offering to sit in it but they were quite young and I didn't want to look like the "Shady Dude with a black van offering candies to innocent kids"

I live a few miles away in Westerham with a Gentian blue Taycan, and see the odd white, black or grey one along the A25.
I'd happily smile or wave if you see me!

I suppose I do too in big cities but even though I moved south for work when I was 25 I still “Good Morning” everybody I see in the morning on my walk to the market or with my dog :)
As a displaced northerner I take tremendous pleasure in saying a (frankly, borderline puppyish) “hello” to people who make eye contact with me. Yesterday afternoon as I went from the Heathrow Express to the Elizabeth Line through the throng at Paddington was particularly enjoyable.

For clarity, I’d taken the train as my car had been requisitioned by my wife to drive our friend’s kids to their prom - pleased to say the Taycan was a nailed-on hit!

Obviously, therefore, I wave and flash headlights at other Taycan drivers, usually with a hi-def fixed goofy grin on my face.

So I wrote in a post earlier that this thread motivated me to enthusiastically wave at the next Taycan I saw on the road next to me. Well, my friend (who was in the front passenger seat) and I did just that last week where we waved to the driver in another Taycan with a big grin on our faces. He just stared at us like we were idiots and proceeded to drive forward. We just laughed at ourselves and drove off too :')

Well, yesterday while waiting to turn off my street, a white Taycan drove by and gave me a big honk! It took me a second and then I honked too! My husband and son have seen a Gentian Blue around and today I finally passed him so I gave a big wave and he waved back! Last weekend I got headlights flashed at me, and not from a Taycan and I was all flustered. My husband was in the car and said, "It was a Rivian, saying Hi. He waved too!" I was like woah, I totally missed that! He said it's an EV thing and so I said, "Then how come not a single Tesla has shown any love?" ?‍♀

I have only gotten the light flash and wave from one other Taycan. However, this past Tuesday, as I was buckling my son into his harness booster, the most "Red Neck" looking guy in a huge Ram 1500 came over to talk about my Taycan. He was super nice and interested, asking about range and performance. Told me to take good care of it, he wanted it when I was done with it. Sort of nice to have an expectation flipped on its head here in Texas.
