Answers to both above questions:
1) Yes, on a 2024 all lights are Matrix, and I don't have the matrix menu options, although Porsche says I should have it, the dealer says they can't activate it (I was just there an hour ago)
2) Park assist, what you're describing is the basic, I have the "KA6 Surround View" PLUS the front and back cameras, so I should have the cameras for the Birds Eye, 360, zoom into different cameras.

How to Use the 3D Surround View Camera | Porsche TaycanYouTube · Porsche Centre CalgaryFeb 15, 2021
Surround is not 3D (2D / 360 only). You should have 4 physical cameras - front, rear and one in each door mirror (obvious to see) for the 2D setup.

3D adds 4 virtual cameras and the option to spin the car image in the central display and tap one to get a particular angle. You don't have this. If it helps it's of no use. This is obvious from the screen shot shared. PCM menu options are limited and and I think you have all (note these are not HD Matrix lights - just basic).

PDLS+ is basically auto high beam and if you have matrix it is no different but the lights are smarter in what they illuminate. They are speed dependent and street light dependent. So to see full functionality - 40mph+, no street lights and no oncoming traffic.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but the pre-face lift Taycans (ie 2024) do not have matrix enabled in Canada. That's why your build sheet says "Matrix-design" headlights as opposed to simply matrix or HD matrix in the j1.2.

All the pre-facelift Taycans in North America only have PDSL+ which is simple automatic high beams - which you do have.

This is not a legal thing as in Canada Matrix headlights have been legal for many years. But because our low volumes we usually get US-specced cars so it's always been deactivated in the Canadian market until 2025.

There are several posts here as well as on Rennelist about how to activate matrix functionality privately, the dealer will not be able to do that for you.

Surround view is porsche language for "birds eye view" which you do have. You lack the 3D surround view which is an upgrade with the parking assistance package for the pre-face list Taycan. see here for details: https://www.taycanforum.com/forum/threads/surround-view-not-a-rotatable-view.14715/

Porsche options are always very confusing and even many sales people are not 100% familiar with it. If you ever plan on doing a brand new order forums like these are essential to help clarify what the options actually are.

@Jayyvr890, this is THE most perfect explanation from a fellow to OP Canadian that solves the situation that has been posed.

I just want to note, let's not confuse the lights for J1.1 only options were LED and Matrix LED (both having Auto High Beam as standard but Matrix version only having PDLS+), for J1.2 you have Matix and HD Matrix (only HD Matrix has PDLS+ with swivel) - see below. Interesting enough Macan EV is not offered with HD Matrix (32,000 elements), but rather the setup similar to J1.1 Taycan with options being LED and Matrix LED (same 84 elements).

Bottom line: OP has everything matching the build sheet for J1.1 2024 model for Canada: Surround View 2D only and Matrix disabled, although the lights are Matrix LED. Case closed!

I also have KA6. It the same as yours. The 3D one you’re referencing is a different option.

I don’t have time to keep checking in and go back and forth with you on it, so I’ll just post the next few replies right now.

No, for real, it’s just the top down one. That’s correct.

Yeah, I get your still confused. But really the 3D one is different. Your picture looks correct.

I’d like to thank everyone who contributed. I now feel like I understand the vagueness and similar naming conventions of the Taycan. I am going to fight for the Matrix to be turned on, using the argument that it has never been a Canadian issue not to have it. And I believed by the description that I should. I’ll keep the Canadian forum updated if I succeed.

That unfortunately is not something the dealer can do. When I specc'ed my car new in Canada it was well documented that the Matrix-design headlights are deactivated in Canada.

However lots of people have activated their Matrix privately, I suggest you go that route.

Is there a recommendation for remote activation in Canada?

I have appointment to activate mine this Sunday - March 8. I can let you know how it goes and then make a recommendation of the vendor. The vendor was recommended by one of the forum members who did it and happy with the results. I do not see any difference between US vs. Canada in this case. This is just to unlock already build in functionality that would then add some PCM menus to adjust the function.

in my ‘25 ct 4s i have all these toys. I like the 3d parking but have really used it only a couple of times. the matrix headlights though are updated i believe in my 25 with more leds than in prefacelift taycans. and the system is actually amazing. full brights remain on but focused away from oncoming traffic, for example. This is fantastic functionality.

Both matrix options are offered on the current J1.2 Taycans - standard are the "Matrix" and optional are "HD Matrix". In each headlight of the HD Matrix option there are 2 x 32K pixels (64K total) - it is impressive but pricey.

Full beam remains on with both matrix options (purpose of PDLS+).

Love to hear how it goes.
From what I can see, you can also unlock the Birds Eye camera, front (hate) and rear (love) cross traffic warning, you can also unlock active lane keeping. I’d be curious if your guy will do it all for one price.

I’ve found the forum here with all the instructions for DIY, and although DIY brain surgery isn’t recommended, I’m tempted to get a PC set up and play since the worst that can happen seems to be you relocate your car to Germany, lose Porsche Connect and stump your dealer… 🥴
