J2 Taycan Speculation?

Hi all - wondering if there would be any speculation for the upcoming release of the J2, and what features this may include in it

I believe it’s expected around 2029 and at the rate things are developing, half a decade feels a long way away so probably impossible to speculate. clearly it’ll improve on range and efficiency because we’re early in the EV development curve

why do you believe it will be from a chinese manufacturer? Is it not currently a bespoke Porsche platform right now?

Because that's the direction VW, the parent company, is on.
They announced 3 new VW on chinese platforms, built by XPENG.
And the brother of Porsche, AUDI, also owned by VW, announced new model built by SAIC, another chinese auto manufacturer.

And on the announcment of the cooperation with XPENG, for which VW paid 700mil (5% of Xpeng is now owned by VW), on the same scene they pulled a Taycan and a Lamborghini Urus - to me, a non rocket scientist, it doesn't take much to make a conclusion.

Aditionally, VW invested heavily into Rivian software. Hardly any reason to use it in China as Chinese are ahead in that department also, but chinese software will be banned in USA/EU, so likely for that market only.

No speculation, just my wish list:
- suicide doors like the mission e concept
- better infotainment options for rear seats
- sunroof that can open
- Turbo GT version of the Sport Turismo
- bucket seats as option on all trims
- real buttons for AC
- leather/pepita options for trunk and frunk
- other leather colour options. I miss different brown and beige shades. I miss dark blue etc

Here is my Dear Santa for the J2:

• Another nice range bump
• Lose the J1.2 dimples on the front bumper on Turbo+, return some of the J1 character around the lights.
• (For US) Native NACS on one port, retain CCS/J1772 on the other port.
• (For US) Sport Turismo in more trims - let the CT be the exception and ST be the norm.
• Option for no panoramic roof
• Definitive elimination of the battery floor plate vulnerability

I love my CT. But highly likely never going to buy another Taycan. 911, maybe but no Taycan for sure.

Move the right charging port behind the rear door. Then both will be in roughly the same place when you're standing the wrong way round.
