Jacking up a Taycan corner? Trolley Jack? Pads? Stands?

Hi,

Anyone any experience of jacking up a Taycan. I can only find US references on the forum.

I only mean to (rarely hopefully) remove a single wheel - nothing more ambitious. Aside from setting the suspension to allow jacking - any tips/risks - sources for the kit?

I guess the trolley jack should be 3 Tonne to be safe? - Would 2, 2.25 or 2.5 cope with one corner OK? Is low-profile essential?

Any UK sources for suitable Jack pads? - Do the universal ones (a'la Amazon) work OK? Any that are designed for the recent Porsche/Taycan jack socket? source/spec? There is a lot of forum US discussion on Tesla pads fitting - but their suitability seems to be inconclusive.

Lowest height of jack-stands to fit under? - safest position? - I won't be solely relying on jack-stands, but prefer to have one in place to augment the Jack just in case.

I intend to source a jacking kit before car arrives -............ gives me something to do while waiting........ :(

Any hints welcome thanks.

I just lifted mine the other day with a regular low profile 2.5t trolley jack, all I did was put it in "lift mode" which I assume stops the suspension from trying to self correct.

I assume there are some kind of blocks you can buy to lift it with a 2 post lift but so long as you're careful with placement a regular trolley jack should be fine.

Thanks for the swift response G - That is reassuring - and simples. I guess the 'required' pads are a US thing.

I'm glad to hear that, I need to jack the rear nearside of my 4S ST and and my trolley jack doesn't fit under in normal mode which is the recommended height before jacking. In raised mode it looks like I might just get a jacking pad (currently on order from eBay) in. I'll follow your instructions and put in lift mode and jacking mode then try. Fingers crossed ?
