Wow thats really nice! Its wild that there are still Porsche dealerships out there without ANY charging solutions let alone a lounge lol. im out of town for work right now and i had to charge my Taycan at a cadillac dealer because the porsche dealer here doesn't have any charging (wild).
Porsche is just very confident that you will stick with the brand, even if you charge at other dealers. ;)

i asked my sales manager when signing for my car how long i had to wait to pay off the car so the dealer wouldn't lose their commission. he said i could pay it off that afternoon and they wouldn't care lol. They did not try to sell me up on any of the protection packages or warranties or crap. Truly a wonderful dealer experience.
Might be a missed opportunity in one area - wheels.

I recommend the wheel and tire package along with cosmetic fixes. If you get a nail in a tire Porsche won’t patch it, so either you have coverage or you need to buy a new tire. Also, if you hit a pothole and damage the wheel itself, that is very expensive without this package.

I’ve had one nail puncture and I’ve curbed my 21” Mission-E wheels 3 or 4 times, and it’s great that all of this was covered. I think I’ll look to extend this package at 3 years when it expires.

This is why I stopped getting low profile tires after I moved to Washington over 20 years ago. Roads here are just not suitable for them. Even if it's covered by a plan, I just don't want the hassle to keep fixing the wheels/tires. Out of curiosity, did you come ahead on the plan yet, with 1 new tire and 3-4 curb repairs? Did the plan cover loaner wheels, or loaner car, while yours were being repaired? How come they will not fix a tire but will repair curbed/bent wheels?

Never say never but who knows,. I mean i own an Acura too so i doubt ill be an exclusive porsche guy. But when i got my first Tesla i said i'd never buy another car brand ever, but htat was back when Tesla promised they would give owners then free supercharging for life on that car and any future tesla they bought, then they took it back lol.

I did get that protection package, i didn't have to be talked into it. I wanted it all along. I do get curb rash on all my cars and i hate it, and it includes windshield replacement too up to $5k so i figured i can get 2 new windshields in the next 5 years if needed.

Good question about up/down on the two policies. Here is where I stand --
  • Cosmetic Wheel Protection(3 years & 8 repairs) - Policy cost - $988
    • 4 repairs @$247.50 each (with taxes) = $990
    • These were scratches, not bent wheels.
    • Loaner car provided each time.
    • Currently in the money - $2
  • Tire & Wheel Protection- Policy cost - $1,265
    • 1 Tire replacement for $476.43 (nail in tire).
    • Currently in the hole - $789.
    • Loaner car provided.
    • Cost of a set of Mission-E's is $9,890 for 4, so $2,475 each (my wheels are fine, but this is for reference).
To your other questions --
  • Tire Punctures - Dealer said they won't repair a tire with a puncture because Porsche won't authorize that. My SA said these cars are designed to be driven hard, and no one wants a tire to go on a high-g turn.
  • Bent Wheels vs. Curb Rash - Curbed wheels can in fact be repainted to look new. I was shocked when I first had this done - simply couldn't tell. On the other hand, a bent wheel has the same safety issues in hard driving scenarios and the tires do, so Porsche would replace, not repair.

I like the protection packages overall, and given the potential cost of a wheel replacement I feel like being only $787 in the hole at this point is a good deal. Others might see it differently.

Note that I did negotiate a discount on the two packages of ~$500 to get to the prices shown above. Not a lot, but I did my best.

Yeah, I worried a lot about the 21" Mission-E wheels. My first concern was comfort - how would they handle our uneven roads. That turned out to not be an issue since the suspension is simply superb and this car is a smoother ride than my wife's Lexus RX.

Little did I know that I had to re-learn how to parallel park! On my 2020 4S I curbed the wheels in the first 2 weeks - what an idiot! Fortunately I had added the Protection Packages, and learned how they paid off (I didn't count those events in the numbers above - the 4 repairs are for my 2021 4s).

Bottom Line - Love the look of the car with Mission-E's; had to re-educate myself on parallel parking and turns near curbs in parking lots (damn car turns on a dime); don't feel as much like an idiot.
