Very few on mine (20k miles).

Based on forums, I think it's way more of an issue in the US. In the UK, we tend to get more mud - due to the amount of rain!

do you plan to fix it?
I tend to just leave them, unless it's worse than normal - and then I might use a touch up stick.

Note: These are small 'stone' chips, rather than (I assume) larger 'rock' chips that are often reported from the States.

The most sensible thing to do would be to purchase a touch up kit from Porsche at the time of handover of your new car. The next best alternative would be to PPF the front clip before delivery….particularly if paint chips would impact your overall experience of ownership.

Just know that people that are good at paint touch up (detailers and paint touch up pros) can make most paint chips very difficult to detect once the job is complete.

Are you familiar with how much these jobs cost? And if they are using original paint?

Original paint is not critical….just need the paint code. There are several companies that make the kits and they are a perfect match. If that is important to you, you could buy from the dealer and supply it to whoever does the work. The cost is based on the amount of time/work needed but generally a lot less than any other alternative.

I wish I had PPF’d…. Although not sure that would’ve saved me from the torrent of stones which a passing cement lorry dumped all over the car a few months ago!!

This has resulted in circa £20k of damage including (gulp) a new roof…..

I bought a minor damage repair insurance policy when I bought the car. I’ll see if was worth the money or not in due course!

What does this mean?
I bought insurance from a 3rd party, separate from my usual car insurance, that covers me for minor damage to body work, dinged alloys or a flat or damaged tyre. So for example if somebody opens their door in a car park and puts a small dent in my car, I should be able to get it repaired under this policy.

I haven’t tried claiming on it yet as I’ve only just got the car but I thought it was worth it.

I didn’t PPF because I’d never had issues before on previous cars. This one has numerous chips on the bumper and wing mirrors ? haven’t had them sorted yet but will do
Did you sort it out? What do you plan to do?

Not yet, the largest one on the wing mirror annoys me most but the bonnet ones aren't too noticeable unless I'm looking closely. I still have a colour-matched precision touch-up pen open on my phone's browser to remind me, but I'm not sure I trust myself to do a good enough job!

Any chance you could send me pictures of the marks on the front etc?
