when charging with a AC charger like the PMC+/PMCC - can you now adjust the amps to lower Thant he default setting for any given charging session when plugged into AC power using the PCM/Center screen charging user interface?

@Boss Hogg - question for you - see above - thank you!!
Hoi Dave, I don’t have the PCM+/PMCC, here are the menus, cannot remember the Gen1 menus as I hardly used them.

You can change target charge while charging in AC mode but not in DC. If you have departure timer set then ‘direct charge’ button comes back as an option which makes sense.

When you set the slider to 90%+ it gives you a warning.

It is nice that you can now set the cable lock to release once AC charging completed.

Wow, that's quite an unbridled charge curve!

I visited a 350kW Ionity charger this afternoon to test the new speed/curve.
  • Arrived with 7% SoC
  • Outside temp was 18 degrees
  • Battery temp was about 22 degrees C (did not have time to fully pre-heat, but the new charging screen showed it was within the ideal range).
  • Charger did not appear to restrict power at any point
  • Car restricted paper a fraction around 60% as battery cooling really kicked it
Results:
  • 300kW+ up to 60% with 318kW peak speed  around 40%
  • 210-190kW from 60% to 75%
  • 100kW-90kW to 85% before charing stopped*
So very impressed.

*Note the DC charging now stops as soon as the car hits the target charge, the same as it does with AC charging (85% in my case), rather than continuing to full like the old 'direct charge' mode. The 'direct charge' option is no longer appears to be available.

Photos at 5% steps, I missed the start and some of the initial phase.

Compared to my 2023:
Even faster charging. Always nice, but I'm good at 200KW.
DC fast charging stops at the setpoint, not 100%, just like other EVs. Now I'm jealous!

I use direct charge with current J1 when I am traveling. But that is largely due to the 230ish mile range of which you can depend on 185-190ish, I would probably change my tune if I can get 275-300 miles at 85%, even with charger scarcity there should be good options in that radius.
