I dropped my car for SW update at Los Gatos Porsche and noticed they have Hunter drive thru scanners. Didn’t offer or showed me any data out of it. But I am with Derek I feel like I am better of not knowing any tiny dents as would drive me nuts after
I believe those Hunter machines are just for doing alignments. I could be wrong.

Interesting. I've been there twice in the last 6 months and never received a report or noticed them. I wonder when they were put in.

Scanner can be useful.
Earlier this year, I picked up my Taycan and noticed a scuff on a wheel.
The car was parked at the back of the dealer's car park - coincidental perhaps! - and they didn't mention it. They said they weren't aware of it - which was quite possibly true.
They checked their video and could see it wasn't damaged when they checked it in, so refurbished it at their cost.
Without the video, it would have been hard for me to prove the damage happened whilst in their care.

If that Uveye scanner is really good, it will pick up the next time @DerekS loses his DC charging port flap so the dealer can charge him for diagnosing and replacing it.

Notably, it said nothing in the UVEye report about the scratch on the rear bumper cover (which is why it’s there, getting it swapped.) So maybe the service folks get some editorial discretion.,

Holy crap, who ended up paying for it?
I recommend reading the thread in full, as there were lots of twists and turns.
The real sticking point for me in the story was this tiny 3mm ding ended up taking his car hostage, they wouldn't give it back without repairing it (despite the fact it was working fine.)

I remember it because I got a video from the service advisor telling me I had major scratches on mine and they told me to be careful, so i posted that video there for comments but didn’t recall who ended up paying for it. I recently converted my car from lease to purchase and according to the dealership they had to provide pictures and video of the undercarriage to Porsche as part of the inspection to certify it as CPO. PCNA had to ok the battery cover as not needing replacement before they could approve it.
