The only utility I see with the My Porsche app is mainly to use it at charging stations away from my home. Other than that I'm not sure if/when I'd want to use it.

I'd like to know how others use the My Porsche app on a regular basis.

Not essential.

Convenient for managing home charging sessions - profiles and departure timers.

Remote cooling / warming of the car interior.

Checking the car is locked, lights off, windows, boot and frunk closed.

Nav functions but very few charging locations listed compared to PCM / others.

Rating - 3/10

thanks that's my take. Although is it easier to set up home charge sessions? On that score I watched a video on setting home charging through the PCM, and it was VERY complicated, talking about creating various profiles just to accomplish what I'm hoping I can do simply with the general setting - percentage charge and times to charge.

Use it mainly to preheat the car in the winter. Also grab the trip data when looking at stats.

its 100% essential if you dont have plug and charge and want to gain access to our free services. Outside of that, its novelty.

I only drive the car in the summer, so I use it for cooling off the cabin before returning to the car after errands

Like others, I find it convenient for warming up the car in the Winter. Otherwise, pretty much worthless. I'm based in the US but was in Portugal last week, and out of curiosity fired up the app to check out the availability of Iberian fast chargers. It did not work at all. It was also unable to connect with my car back in the states. Par for the course I guess.

I find it useful. Mainly I use it to trigger preheat/precool, set departure timers for charging/preconditioning. I also use it to observe charging progress remotely.

While I could manage without it, I use it often enough that I consider it a necessity.

Simple to establish in the app or in the car (PCM) as they are one and the same thing.

A timer is needed if you want to control the end time and want to preheat/precool.

General profile is fine but remember it is not location dependent. If you have reqular geographically separate locations where you AC charge then non general profiles are ideal and can have differing settings. The car will automatically select the relevant profile based on location.

I use it for managing timers and profiles. As others have said, nice to pre heat/cool the car before you go out. Also good to send a location to the car or a route so that it pops up in the sat nav when you start the car. Saves messing around entering a destination. It’s quite nice to have but possible to manage without

everyone keeps saying its optional...if you don't have plug and charge, how are you activating your free charging sessions without it?

In UK we get a Taycan Charge card in addition to plug and charge etc.

There is also a separate charging app called 'Charging' outside of My Porsche which uses your Porsche Connect ID for authentication.

And we don’t get any free charging. At least none that I am aware of
