Lots of threads discussing this, but has anyone actually swapped from Pirelli’s to PS4S and lived to tell the tale? ? /s

I’m about to put my 21” Cross Turismo wheels on and need tires. Current 20s have P4s and I’ve always run Michelin, and it seems the Pirelli’s are garbage for tread wear.

I’m mostly concerned about road noise and steering feel going to non-NF0 PS4S.

I believe @DerekS changed to Michelin tyres. I do not remember what he evaluated at the end

I did. Going from contis to PS4s on the base Taycan was a huge upgrade.
Going from Pzeros to PS4s was an increase in noise, handling seems the same.

Pzeros next time.

How about treadwear between the two? I’ve always had good success with PS4S and my heavy foot, but folks say just looking at the Pirelli’s wrong makes them wear down quickly

Too soon to tell for me.

I have used Michelins PS4S's on all my Porsches, and have found them to be excellent in terms of performance. However, they get very noisy as the tread wears toward minimums. I much prefer them to Conti's. i currently have Pirelli winters on my 4S and find them to be very quiet....a great advantage when one has Burmester and sound limiting glass.
I will see how they wear in the next months. I would be tempted to try Pirelli N-spec summers on my next tire replacement cycle....are any of you raving about them? What about other new N-spec summer tire offerings?...any suggestions?

How about Goodyear? I went from Pzeros to Goodyear Asymmetric 5. Just a tad, a tad less grip and slightly, just slightly more road noise than the Pzeros. BUT...they last 2-3 times longer. I got squeezed out 12k on the Pzeros. Going on 19k miles on the Goodyears with about another few k until I start brushing the wear bars in the rear.

Had both. Not much in it in terms of road noise. Michelins will outlast the Pirellis.

Yeah it seems like most folks agree Pirelli’s have good all around performance but low treadwear and the Goodyears have shitty wet performance but last longer

I think I’m just going to say fk NF0 and go with the same tire I’ve had on many other cars - the PS4S. Same load ratings, I trust it more and folks that have put them on their Taycan seem to be ok with them.

Yeah, just meaning I know what to expect from them generally.
Gotcha. Is there a generic PS4S version for the rear (305/30/21)? Tirerack is showing MO1A. If not, then that means that PS4S size made and tweaked specifically for a Mercedes AMG car.

If you are also looking for increasing range you might want to consider the new tyres Porsche putting on the new Taycan. I think they are putting Hankook NF0 by default now. I didn’t search this in details though, I just know that on the 21 RS Spyder it gets you 28 km extra in WLTP compared to the Pirelli.

I have a 4S loaner with identical wheels (Mission E) as mine but with GY tires right now, and they are horrible. They vibrates so much I can feel it on the steering wheel, and much noisier than the PZeros on mine. It was still wet from a rain and took a curve at around the same speed I always do on mine, and almost sh!t in my pants because it began to lose grip. That has never happened on the PZero. Yeah they may have better treadwear but not worth losing all of the fun out of a drive. Paid too much for this to save a couple hundred dollars on tires I think.
