I’m of the rather unique view that Porsche aren’t luxury cars, so I didn’t even ponder the possibility of getting the full leather package. I have the standard interior in my Macan and thought the dash and door surfaces were of perfectly fine quality. The Taycan’s are not fine - it’s very cheap, hard plastic and - I imagine - the source of a few rattles I’m hearing. In hindsight, I would now consider leather-covered dash and door caps to be less of a luxury, and more of an upgrade to better materials.

RAS is another one raising second thoughts: I was decidedly against it when speccing (for many reasons: I fancied myself as a DIYer "when the time comes" for suspension work, and this sounded like an unnecessary complication; the Macan handles well and it's on stilts - no way the Taycan would be worse; and finally, I'll always have the 996 for 'handling'). I didn't realize, though, how much longer the Taycan is - than even the Macan; you have to take your time to turn, and navigating tight parking can be a challenge. Having said that, I drove recently a RWD loaner with RAS, and while it did feel a bit different, it wasn't compelling.

Also, I am glad I did not go for the VLC roof, since it does not darken like other things (glasses, mirror, etc.), as @bn8959 said, it just turns milky white, and then when I saw it in person, it did not block much of the sun, so removable shade has been perfect. The car that I looked at had the VLC roof malfunction with one of the panels not working, so the owner had to wait for the replacement.
can you share which removable shade you use? I haven't been able to find any. Groovy ones seems to be out of stock or they stopped making them....

Groovy is the one I use and I got may be the last one they made. Exceptional product.
There may be similar products on AliExpress, as I saw on the Tactical Expedition Youtube channel.

I have two mild regrets: carbon fiber interior trim: looks like matte grey plastic, zero appeal. And the 14-way adjustable seats are pretty uncomfortable in the hips for me. I’m tall, not heavy, and the side bolsters are too narrow. I have to use a customized (by me) seat cushion to make it tolerable for more than 15 minutes. I hear the less adjustable seats are better.

I DO love the sound and thermal glass option. I find it works very well, but I don’t have a radar detector.

My car was CPO so I have no regrets per se (I got 99% of the options that I wanted) but I wish my car had rear axle steering. RAS makes the car feel smaller when parking in tight spots and I miss that.

My only regrets were not getting and those were burmiester, massage seats, and middle rear seat. I will say I am very thankful I didn’t get heads up display and remote park. Have it in my current loaner and hate it.
Out of curiosity, why do you hate the heads-up display and the remote park? I have neither and have considered adding them to my next car.

Options I wish I got:

full leather interior, really elevates the car. Right now it feels kind of cheap with the only upside that the car sits at a train station while I am at work, so I feel less bad about the leather being exposed to the sun.

Cooled seat, it gets hot in the summer and my sweaty lower back and some times, my balls, would appreciate instant coolness.

Options I wish I didnt get:

Electric sports sound-- I only turn it on when driving near wooded area to make sure the deers are aware that I am coming down the road

I’m awaiting my first Taycan and have been getting doubts whether my choice of partial leather is a mistake after cross reading in this forum. Opinions about partial leather? Does it feel too cheap for a car of this class?

Great thread. I have a bunch of stuff... Here's my take:

  • Burmester - must have. I've had the Audi and BMW upgraded systems too and this is by far the strongest.
  • Variable light control panoramic roof - must have. It's just cool.
  • Heads up display - must have.
  • 19kwh onboard charging - must have. I installed the 100A Porsche Wall Charger and it's a game changer.
  • Ventilated seats - must have.
  • Olea Club Leather Comfort Seats - must have for me. Softer than the sports.
  • Night vision assist - must have. I thought it was a waste till it saved me a few times.
  • Thermal glass - can live without. Toll tag issues are frustrating.
  • InnoDrive - never used. Likely never will.
  • Massage seats - gimmicky. I can live without and it's a pain to turn on. BMW was one button press.

I personally just find them to be annoying and pretty useless. However what kills it in the Taycan for me is it looses the beautifully sculpted dash and instead you just get this bulbous mass.

the remote park just takes absolutely forever to get a space and then park. I can do it much much faster myself. Then there is the fact I loose my surround camera button which I use all the time in tight parking.
