Hello,
I have a 4s without the factory passenger display screen. I ordered an oem factory display screen. Is this an easy swap plug and play or will it need an update after? Thanks a lot for the help guys

I'm betting this is a hard install without factory support (i.e. that the factory/germany has documented a procedure for adding passenger screen to a Taycan "after the fact" - to my knownledge no such procedure exists) - it's probably more than just the screen - there are probably harnesses involved that your car lacks and software coding that will require the dealer to use their PWIS to enable

your first hurdle will be is there even the "hardness" or hookup for a passenger display - are their brackets for the mounting behind the dash - porsche tends to not include the "missing" bits for options that are no ordered…the part you ordered to replace a defective/broken screen on a vehicle that already has all the other bits/bob's for a passenger display - the "kit" to add a passenger display to a vehicle that lacks it is probably more than the just the screen.

I highly doubt this can be done - will be deeply surprised if this works.

I've been a porsche customer since 2008 - one thing I've learned is that for factory options is _NEVER_ just the missing part that you can see…

good luck!

How did the swap of your 4S motor work out?
Hey guys, I have an interesting question here. Looking into swapping my 4s rear drive motor for a Turbo S rear drive motor. From research I have done, the 4s has the same front motor and same wire harness as the turbo and turbo s. My question is, would I need to swap my ECU or would I recieve the same performance from the Turbo S by just swapping the rear drive motor? Thanks for any help you can give
Adding new passenger screen to 4S that doesn't have one ought to be really easy compared to that motor swap.
Good luck! Share pics when done.

After reading everyone's replies I opted against trying to do the motor swap lol

I reached out to Porsche and they wouldn't do it so maybe that's my 1st sign lol

If they won't do it, you're done. Features like this would need to be enabled in the car by their computer.

If you've got buyer's remorse on missing features, place an order for the one you truly want...drive this one as a stopgap.

I could swear kufatec used to have a passenger display retro fit kit. Reach out to them first.

Maybe buy a clone PIWIS 3 before going any further, so you can see what programming options can be modified. You would need to change the programming to add the screen.
Looking at the PET diagrams is look like there's a different part numbers for 2020/2021, 2022 and 2023 cars.

Macan EV battery - it's 100 kWh and more usable capacity - should be an easy swap - no issues that would get in the way - should only take an hour or so.

The screens had different part numbers for different model years but possibly compatible. Have you figured out yet how to connect them? The PMCC appears to only have one browns Fakra connector,

but the dual screen has two (one each screen).

Each brown Fakra has 2 high speed pairs, perhaps there is a splitter cable you will need which takes one pair to one screen and a second pair to the other one?

(images above from ebay).

The passenger screen is a nice to have but don’t sweat this one. First of all it only works if there’s a passenger in the seat. Doesn’t help you when driving solo. Second it doesn’t provide anything that you don’t have on the main screen. Your passenger can reach over 12 inches and select the info they’re looking for or change the music selection. I think it would be a different story if the passenger could watch a movie or get other infotainment that is different then the main screen but this is not the case.
