PCM stuck in Guest Mode

For the heck of it, I tried a full factory reset of the PCM today. Go figure, no luck and back to private and or guest mode. I called me dealer yet again today and am awaiting a reply. Each day with this makes me just want to say goodbye to the car.

I already did that too for lack of what’s else you can do. Sadly the more things we close out we invariably reduce our functionality even further!! I’m stuck in Guest mode not sure how much more restricted we can get!
Honestly, as I said before the car as a vehicle is fantastic! As a tech tool, I can’t believe the Germans have such low quality control on their tech… that part is inconceivable to me!

As I’ve said before, I was in guest mode for more than two weeks. If I was able to do everything in the car as though I was in Porsche ID mode. The only thing I was lacking was the ability to check out things on my car via my phone. The car itself was the same car - with all the same features I had before the issue arose…

Hi fellow Taycan owners. For the last 4 days, every time I use my car, it is stuck in guest mode. I can see my main user name on the screen but can't access it. I have tried downloading the new App as well as deleting it, as well as deleting and reinstalling the old Porsche Connect Ap. Neither seem to do the trick to get me to my main user name. (I must say that I find both apps poorly designed and mostly useless for me, considering a 6 figure car). This is what shows up everyItime i enter the car for 4 days now.

I had this issue in December/early Jan. The dealer eventually solved it with a Terminal 30 reset. It's been fine for the last two weeks.

I was going to pull the fuse myself but couldn't figure out which fuse it was.

I had the same issues about the same time frame as you did had to take it to the dealer to fix issue car is fine now. I did the same by resetting pcm..... after where you'd go to re-add my account was shaded out so I couldn't sign in.

I also experience this issue. I think my problem is that I occasionally park my car in a very deep parkade which does not have cell reception. If I park for too long (a few days), the car will go into guest mode only for a day or 2, until I park it in the open for an extended period of time.

Same here! My Porsche is ordering a part from Germany. I owned 2 Porsches and they were all great cars. Don't let me down Taycan!

This happens to mine quite frequently and generally sorts itself out on it's own after a few days/weeks.

However, it happened last week on the Monday and by Saturday the car was bricked and wouldn't charge and had forgotten how to speak English. Fortunately it could still drive so was sent to an OPC on a flat bed this morning

passenger side , frunk under a plastics bonnet.

in short:
keep key fob outside the car,
lift plastic cover (2),
loosen the 10mm nut (3),
lift the minus cable (1) for ~1 min.

update guys... so car was taken to the dealership on Monday. 2 year service (10000 miles) $$$ much more than I expected, front tires also replaced, rear have some thread left 4mm will need to be replaced shortly! Over the air module replaced and now I can see "my Porsche" app connecting and working! Hopefully can pick it up tomorrow. Apparently the unit is $4K + labor for replacement so I assume that is why the dealerships are not jumping to replace these....the bigger question is as these are faulty or have quality issues why are they not been recalled for replacement rather the hassle for us to fiddle around endlessly for more than a month thinking it's a server issue where in all reality its a hardware issue! I am perplexed in how Porsche is portraying it's flagship model!

How much was the service, leaving out the tire cost? I am led to believe the 2 year/20K service is a brake flush and a new bottle of tire goo.

I am fatigued by excessive Porsche service costs (this is my 7th Porsche) and going to the EV I really hoped to dodge some of this.

I’ll let you know tomorrow after I pick it up but estimate was $1300! Not sure what they are doing for that price, I guess they are covering 2 years of costs per ICE car!!

Please let me know - that is the most expensive brake flush in the history of brakes. I am NOT going to pay that.
I will get it done by a reputable shop instead if they are planning to screw Taycan owners.
