Better (?) late than never, I guess? 🤷‍♂️

How did you (or the dealer) finally manage to track these issues down??
Persistence on my side, and skilled techs on Porsche’s side.

For the initial brake scraping issue, Porsche Los Gatos told me it was normal.
I knew it was not, and got a second opinion. The excellent tech at Porsche RWC immediately diagnosed the underlying problem.

For the hissing sound, that was also diagnosed as normal on my last visit to RWC.
I was bringing it in for another repair, and told them I was really not happy with it and asked for another look.

I worked with the same tech who found the cooked brakes, he rode along with me and heard the noise I was talking about. He knows the track abuse history on the car, and he diagnosed it from there.

In both cases I knew what the car should sound like, and didn’t take normal for an answer. It helps that I’ve had so many Porsches and prior Taycans.

But really it’s all about having a great tech at the end of the day.

Without leafing through 13 pages of this thread, how did you eventually determine track use/abuse? Did Porsche admit it, or was there some other source?

Bought the car with 115 miles on it. Brakes made noise. On examination pads and rotors were cooked and cracked. Heat marks on the calipers etc.

Examined window sticker and noted it was delivered to a PEC in Atlanta.

Selling dealer made me (partially) whole with PCNA. They never admitted fault or the track abuse, but covered the front brake replacement.

Moral of the story: low mile CPOs may not be the great deal they appear to be. Get a good inspection.

I'm surprise that there was so much damage from only 115 miles of track use. I thought porsche designed the taycan with track use in mind.

PSCBs need to be bedded in properly, and track use is explicitly disallowed during that period.
