That's what my front looks like. I brought my car, 24 rwd with pscb, in for routine service. It had 15k miles at the time. The fronts were measured at 7mm and the rear wear 9mm. The advisor said this was normal.

Perhaps you're not driving your car like a Porsche, or the shop forgot to connect them. :p
I’m intentionally taking it easy! I’m a bit spooked about heat damage during bedding.

Being serious though, they should be engaging in the first mile of driving every so often no matter how easy you are taking it - the brake cleaning cycle, typically after charging. Or did they do away with that in J1.2?

None of those are quite the right match; I need to try and capture the sound I think.

It’s like a hissing with a metallic edge to it, starts becoming audible around 60mph and increases volume with speed from there.

It’s not a whistle, it’s like an air sound. I wouldn’t obsess about it except that neither of my two prior Taycans did it, even with PSCBs.

It still has that, and a toggle in the settings to activate it yourself.

A new J1.2 feature, or also present J1.1 after some recall?
It’s either new to J1.2 or something I missed on previous cars.
Settings app, Vehicle, Additional Braking Functions.

It has a toggle for brake cleaning where it will engage the brakes for 1-2 stops before shutting back off.

Also an item for brake bedding, which says 100% and does nothing when clicked.

To put an end to this saga…

I had the rear PSCBs replaced yesterday. These were not worn enough to be comped as the fronts were, but I wanted a fresh start for the vehicle all around. All brakes are now at 9mm (new) and the scraping sound disappeared completely after the fronts were replaced.

The rear parts cost me $3700 from Suncoast and the labor $700.

Annoyed that a 115 mile car wasn’t perfect out of the box, and annoyed I had to spend money, but wherever. Moving on.

I do still notice a wind hissing sound at highway speeds and the shop tells me it’s normal which I’m accepting for now. It could be the power charge doors, as this is my first time for them and they do block airflow in the wheel well.
I'd have to hear it to compare with mine... there is wind noise, but I would say pretty normal stuff similar to my previous Teslas.

Seriously. It’s crazy that Porsche did, and ignored their own bedding procedure.
They believed their own marketing, never checked the owner's manual or with engineering.
