Early PSCB equipped Taycans had the 10 pot, they later downsized it to 6.
They switched out 10pot PSCB calipers for plug and charge capability

Definitely would prefer the 10pot. They look real nice!

In case of a GTS the PSCB are not really bigger. There's like a 20mm difference, which is not going to change much (410mm vs 390mm), which means the surface area is just 10% larger, not sure that is going to be a quantifiable difference, especially since we don't know how well the coating transmits/radiates heat compared to cast iron.

In case of 4S and below where the rotors are 360mm the difference is larger.
I didn't realize GTS iron brakes were bigger already.

I had to explain that rotor color is linked to brake type, and that it’s probably not a good idea to change it.
It doesn't have to be, both PSCB's and PCCB have a black color option.

As a coda to this PEC saga...

I remembered that the G-Meter will keep "high scores" until reset.

All I've done is gentle in-town driving since I got it, but look at the lateral G-Forces!

Clearly, the previous owner was a grandma that dove it only to the market, gently, ever so often.

But do lateral forces indicate heavy brake usage?

To put an end to this saga…

I had the rear PSCBs replaced yesterday. These were not worn enough to be comped as the fronts were, but I wanted a fresh start for the vehicle all around. All brakes are now at 9mm (new) and the scraping sound disappeared completely after the fronts were replaced.

The rear parts cost me $3700 from Suncoast and the labor $700.

Annoyed that a 115 mile car wasn’t perfect out of the box, and annoyed I had to spend money, but wherever. Moving on.

I do still notice a wind hissing sound at highway speeds and the shop tells me it’s normal which I’m accepting for now. It could be the power charge doors, as this is my first time for them and they do block airflow in the wheel well.

what were the measurements of the rears pads before you replaced them?

Do the Disc wear down? The coating is only 0.1mm thick or something like that. So I'm assuming that only the pads would wear down under normal usage.

Pads at 8mm. AFAIK the rotors aren’t measured, since the coating is basically intact or missing/cooked.

They were liveable, especially as infrequently as the rears are used, but it bothered me that they were abused.

I don’t think my rears have even engaged since replacing them!
