They switched out 10pot PSCB calipers for plug and charge capabilityEarly PSCB equipped Taycans had the 10 pot, they later downsized it to 6.
I didn't realize GTS iron brakes were bigger already. In case of a GTS the PSCB are not really bigger. There's like a 20mm difference, which is not going to change much (410mm vs 390mm), which means the surface area is just 10% larger, not sure that is going to be a quantifiable difference, especially since we don't know how well the coating transmits/radiates heat compared to cast iron.
In case of 4S and below where the rotors are 360mm the difference is larger.
It doesn't have to be, both PSCB's and PCCB have a black color option.I had to explain that rotor color is linked to brake type, and that it’s probably not a good idea to change it.
Perhaps you and @DerekS should just swap. You get the color you like, his wife is happy. My car was optioned to paint the calipers black... I would have liked them to remain standard red.
I also do not want PSCBs... soPerhaps you and @DerekS should just swap. You get the color you like, his wife is happy.![]()
Clearly, the previous owner was a grandma that dove it only to the market, gently, ever so often. As a coda to this PEC saga...
I remembered that the G-Meter will keep "high scores" until reset.
All I've done is gentle in-town driving since I got it, but look at the lateral G-Forces!

But do lateral forces indicate heavy brake usage? As a coda to this PEC saga...

Well the 1.10 G braking force is no slouch either. But do lateral forces indicate heavy brake usage?
Pads at 8mm. AFAIK the rotors aren’t measured, since the coating is basically intact or missing/cooked.what were the measurements of the rears pads before you replaced them?
Do the Disc wear down? The coating is only 0.1mm thick or something like that. So I'm assuming that only the pads would wear down under normal usage.
