I am not sure why there is some kind of expectation that there needs to be a date that there are discounts, which in most cases in retail look like this:
1. Increase the price by 30% in the week leading up to it.
2. Lower the price by 25%.

No, we are not going to have any discounts, and the way the tariffs and everything else is going the ASG's are going to become more expensive and the prices might have to be corrected up. The price on ASG already went from $300 to $900 at Audi in USA, Porsche is probably soon to follow.

because it’s the way things are it’s always expected that there is a sale from reputable companies, Black Friday or cyber Monday. It’s just part of doing business. I love when companies use the tariff narrative. It’s just what people expect. Reality or not

I like how you snuck in the passive-aggressive "reputable" in there. Maybe in retail you can give a 20% discount on stuff that is marked up 200%, and be "reputable". We don't have those kinds of margins, and I don't work for free.

We have the best product at the best price, there is no need to do any sales, it sells well enough as-is.
The Tariff backlash is absolutely real, it took 3 months from order in the USA to get ASG's (before that parts from Audi took a couple weeks max) and after the first large order the price went up 3x, so we have to import it ourselves.

Tax + shipping has to be paid on every single ASG imported because there is no more de minimis exemption.

Do you know how much the price went up after that? $0. But we could have easily raised it $300 to cover the increased fees and handling costs. Consider that your discount I guess.

Yep, everybody wants FREE stuff even if it’s really not free or it’s just perceived to be a deal because it was already marked up so high.

”reputable” or ”desperate”? Remember how Apple never had any sales, Black Friday included? There were also a lot of ”reputable” companies in the past who would raise prices for BF while advertising them as sales. Black Friday Sale is no different than Memorial Day Sale or Valentine Day Sale - these are all marketing exercises. Can you get a great real during a marketing campaign, absolutely, but whether Cyber Monday or Labor Day will yield a better price is totally random. As a side, anecdotal example, I picked up a bunch of parts to build a new PC during the recent Labor Day sale - these Black Friday sale prices are higher than what I paid for them just few months ago.

Sometimes.

Sometimes there are some killer deals. Just got $1000 off a washer/dryer set this week. YMMV but if you pay attention to prices along the way, you know a deal when you see one.

Black Friday real deals are sometimes old stock they need to dump, sometimes loss leaders to get people to come into the store and buy other things. Years ago I managed an appliance and electronics store. I also spent 8 years after that doing advertising for the local paper. You could say I knew a bit about pricing strategy.

To the case at hand, this is neither. They have 1 product at a good price, no discounts needed.

That and the irony of asking a European company that doesn’t celebrate Thanksgiving for a Black Friday deal isn’t lost on me.

The key is watch the prices all year long so that you know what a good price is, rather than waif to Black Friday or whatever you think is the best shopping holiday and trust the "X% off" tag. Case in point, I picked up this AMD CPU on July 8th for $434.00 (I guess they didn't sell enough with their 4th of July sale, so they discounted them further right after). Today's sale price is $559.98. Lectron had a much better sale on the NACS adapter couple of months ago than today too.

Exactly. If they ever have surplus inventory to get rid of, they don't need to wait for Black Friday. As a matter of fact, this type of product in US market could probably be better suited for IRS refund day marketing event, rather than Black Friday, as people are less likely to buy a tune as a Christmas present than to treat themselves from "extra money" that shows up in their budgets for the month. Heck, I remember during latter pandemic times, the best time to go to a local card-room to play poker was after the COVID stimulus checks were sent out - tons of people came to get expensive poker lessons. ;)

I really appreciate all your inputs, information, knowledge, and transparency, but sometimes you get offended for no reason. Just smooth out your tone a bit, and it will be perfect.

Actually, I called one of your distributors, and they offer a discount. Not really significant, but this is how business is done here in the US. Sorry, but this is the reality.
Don't take it the wrong way!

Yep, Black Friday is geared for people like you, who will buy a product for 10% off on black Friday, even though most of the year the product is %20 off (there always a sale), and at some slow times as much as 35% off. I guess that is what keeps some marketing people employed.

I am not offended, just puzzled at the recent expectations.
We're already $1000+ cheaper than the competition, sure we could have sold it for $3000 and then done "black friday discounts" for $2500.

I don't like such marketing, hence our commitment to always offering the most fair price possible. "Live and let live".

As for personal comments, I am a firm believer in speaking your mind. If that offends some people, so be it - can't please everybody. Much better than putting on a friendly face and then talking smack behind someone's back or overpromising and underdelivering. Served me well so far in life.

I have MapEV on my 4S and you won’t be disappointed. Best product, best price, best customer support experience.
Redline torque figures are made up. Do your own research and you will make the same decision as I did.
