Thanks, and yes for sure PPF, going in for full car PPF on MondayGorgeous. You NAILED it. Are you going to get the bottom PPF'd? I can only imagine it would get destroyed by rock chips being so low to the ground.
the body shop did charge for sensor recalibration due to Porsche edict, but whether it really needed it is another question.Offically, any time the front apron comes off, Porsche says sensors need recalibration.
No, sorry, the Porsche certified body shop did the work, and I don’t have any pictures of the process or the fasteners.do you have a pic of all the Fastners?
As do many manufacturers but it’s not necessary. I’ve done this on many cars. My car only has parking sensors and the camera. No radar. So it’s even less necessary for mine.Offically, any time the front apron comes off, Porsche says sensors need recalibration.
I saw this but it’s incomplete. If you look at the instructions it actually shows you how to remove the crash bar rather than the bumper cover. As reference, here is an older thread on front bumper removal, with steps and pictures from the service manual:

I am not arguing that, just saying Porsche official rule is to recalibrate, so any Porsche certified shop will do that. What is the worse case scenario, no idea. I know the surround vision is pretty much for show rather than functionality and I don't trust it at all whether it's calibrated or not.As do many manufacturers but it’s not necessary. When a new camera is fitted it’s calibrated using special mats with dots on them but if the same camera is going on it shouldn’t be necessary as the camera doesn’t lose it calibration when unplugged. There’s no calibration procedure for parking sensors, so that really just leaves the radar.I am not arguing that, just saying Porsche official rule is to recalibrate, so any Porsche certified shop will do that. Is the radar mounted to the apron though? If not, why does it need calibration if the apron comes off and goes back on?When a new camera is fitted it’s calibrated using special mats with dots on them but if the same camera is going on it shouldn’t be necessary as the camera doesn’t lose it calibration when unplugged. I don’t know enough about the radar system to be honest. I don’t think it should need recalibrated either but I’ve no experience of working with those so I’m just guessing that it may be the sensor recalibration that Porsche speaks of.Is the radar mounted to the apron though?
