had this recently on my J1.2. Actually the left port was stuck part way open but the error message said right port. Apparently that is common (probably a UK right-hand drive weirdness).
I don't think it's right-hand drive weirdness - it's because the doors are set up so that only one can be open at a time. A bad sensor on either side can cause the other door not to be able to open, and the car doesn't do a good job of reporting what the sensors are actually telling it. I would occasionally see "left charging port impaired" messages, but the right charging port was the defective one.

Well the dealer ended up replacing both left & right charging flaps and this “charging port impaired” issue seems to have finally gone away. Thought I would share this in case anyone had the same issue

I get the “right charging port impaired” warning when the left one doesn’t close. I don’t know why companies put these fancy charge port doors in. Just make it mechanical. I really don’t care if it does something cool when it opens I care if it opens or not.

Mechanical or not they stick lock electronically so eventually it's a very similar failure points with either the motor+sensor or the electronic lock on the mechanical type

My mechanical ones used to freeze open every time we had a frost and I had charged the car with the port door open.

Dealers refused to look at it unless I brought it in like that (by which time I had to drive 50 miles and it defrosted and worked).

Another part of my Taycan 5hitshow experience I had forgotten about.
