If service costs at dealers on the continent are less than 400 as has been suggested (would need to verify) - compared to UK service costs of well over 800 ad-hoc. ....and even a 1000+ in a contract. ............

It could be a nice cheap weekend away, to cross the channel and get the servicing done there - and use the saving on Chunnel crossing plus nice hotel for a couple of nights.

Would be all the sweeter knowing that the rip-off UK dealers had 'cut their own noses off' ..... And would also maintain a Porsche service record.

Just a thought.
I suggest you book the Eurotunnel and start packing for a nice trip! ??

this was already shown earlier in this thread, but I just checked again.

I have just sent this to Porsche UK and VWFS....

Hi,

I have placed an order for a Taycan to be delivered in 2023 (hopefully sooner), and notice that the Taycan 4 year basic service plan costs £2K+ (published online).

On the Continent, Porsche dealers are quoting around £300-£450 per service.

So it would make sense for me to take my wife on a 'taycan servicing holiday' over to Europe every 2 years, get my car serviced at a continental porsche dealer, stay in a nice hotel, visit a swanky restaurant or two, and still have change when I return.

Please can you confirm that arranging servicing at Porsche dealers outside of the UK would not affect my 'Full Porsche Service History' status?

Is there anything that I am overlooking?

Many thanks

......Let's see how they respond...

;)

And their predictably opaque reply is......

Thank you for contacting Porsche Cars Great Britain regarding servicing a Porsche Taycan that you have ordered to be delivered in 2023.

Your are able to service your Porsche at a Porsche Centre outside of the UK. However, for more information about servicing your Porsche, please contact the Aftersales Department at your Porsche Centre. A member of the team will be able to provide more detail about the requirements for Porsche servicing.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.

When I had my Jaguar I Pace first serviced @ 22000 miles , the cost was £199.00.
That’s (much) less expencive than regular service for Renault Koleos…

I am going to start a new thread on the UK section (as we appear to be getting shafted) on this.

Hopefully people will add to it over time.

I am going to add the link posted above to start it off.

Brilliant! -

But I hope the folks in other countries will continue to share their service pricing here ..... It may help any members in any countries being shafted (including the UK) - many thanks.

Car needs a 4 wheel alignment………… wait for it ………….. £720

utter pee take, it’s having the windscreen replaced due to a stone chip / crack, they say the alignment is part of that replacement as well as sensor calibration

this surely is nonsense ?

anyone want to buy a 1 year old Taycan turbo I loved the car until this week !
Actually, the sensor does need alignment and calibration after a windshield replacement, to make the active cruise and crash prevention work properly. In the US it is included n the cost of the windshield. Personally, I think the prices you are quoting are insane by US standards, and I would never pay them.

Indeed. I agree. I'd ordered a ct4s then found out servicing was £1100 a pop. No problem with the money but got bloody annoyed when 3 requests for a breakdown were ignored, though. Decided to at test drive the e tron gt , asked how much the servicing was and was told £450. A figure I was aware of in any event as it is not hidden in a shroud of secrecy. Given it has the same platform as the Taycan, I fail to see Porsche as doing anything but insulting it's clientèle. That in mind I cancelled the ct4s and ordered the gt.

Does anyone know how much a service will be on a Taycan?

Was in my dealer and noted that the basic service plan cost is £2304 incl vat for 2 services over 4yrs/40k miles, rising to £4500 for 3 services over 6yrs/60k miles.

Dealership couldn't tell me the cost of a single service.....apparently Porsche haven't released any details yet?
When I bought my 1 year old car in July 21, I received a video from Porsche Bournemouth which I reviewed today. The salesman advised that there wasn't really much to do other than a visual inspection, reviewing brakes/suspension pieces, plugging in the battery, downloading software updates. He expanded to say that the cost would be far lower than a combustion engine car. I was therefore quite surprised when I recently asked Porsche Chester who quoted £850. This is around the same price as my previous Aston Martin DB11 which had a 5L V12 and twice the cost of my Ftype SVR. My feeling is that we are going to be caught with high costs as nobody else can really do this as Porsche Taycans are a computer on wheels and probably need considerable Porsche Germany to advise on faults. Maybe a further point is that the dealerships are struggling as new car production is severely reduced due to the chip shortage.

As has been said earlier here - go abroad for servicing on principle grounds. Cost 300-400 Euros

EU rules say that if the servicing meets manufacturers spec - it can't affect warranty - and it would be tricky for PorscheGB or VWFS to argue that an Irish, Belgian or dutch OPC did not know how to service UK Taycans.

in fact, in emails to me, PorscheGB said it would not affect warranty.

When it's time for my service (3 years from now) - I fully intend to deny GB dealers their hooky rip-off windfall - and would rather have a slap-up weekend abroad - than willingly let a UK OPC make fun of me.

I think if sufficient customers tell UK OPCs that is their intention - Porsche GB will have to relent.

FWIW

cheers

The audi e tron gt.......same platform and gubbins......is £450 for a service. Porsche offends the senses.
