The seller seems to be a ‘low profile’ leasing company. They have other ‘old new’ stock available.
Oddly there’s another leasing company with a similar age & mileage ‘old new’ Turismo advertised.
The leasing market for Taycans suffered from the recent correction on EV residual values and increased borrowing rates. 3 year lease/PCP deals are now generallypriced on a 40% residual value. E.g. a Taycan Turbo rental would effectively cost £100k over 3 years. A possible explanation is that they were unable to rent them out.
The asking prices just don’t stack up against Porsche dealer demo prices.
Ok thanks very much for doing the research ?

Taycan Turbo (Dec 2022) - purchased August 2023

I've got my eye on a 72 plate Taycan (registered in December 2022) which is for sale at a non-Porsche dealer. Despite being almost 2 years old the car only has 50 miles on the clock and I've been told is still eligible for 100% first year tax relief if bought through my company.

I was wondering if there's anything that I should be concerned about, considering the car has not been driven much over the past couple of years? Apparently the original Porsche warranty is still valid until December 2025 but I was wondering if sitting around might have affected the 12v battery or maybe some other parts? Will having so few miles on the clock affect the Porsche warranty?

I realise there will probably be a few recalls outstanding which I can handle, I just don't want any problems that Porsche refuse to fix under warranty because it hasn't been driven frequently enough.

Thanks for all your words of wisdom ;)
Chris,

I also own a 72 Plate Taycan - the Turbo model with (in my opinion) a better spec, with (currently) 6k miles, up to date on recalls and shortly to be serviced, and includes the next Porsche service (transferrabble) also. I am looking to sell and would be looking for similar money, if this was of interest to you. The original list price was over £150K. I appreciate that you would not have the tax breaks through your business however.

Just a thought...

Apologies if this post is not allowed.

Regards,

Nick

Thanks for the offer Nick. I'll be going for a RWD to keep the insurance and BIK tax lower. And yeah if I can't get the corporation tax break I wouldn't spend that much

Thanks anyway

I agree with other comments here: it's too much money from a non-Porsche dealer - for that money you can secure a better car from a Porsche dealer with full warranty and peace of mind. Back in July I secured a 1-year old Taycan GTS with 86 miles on it for not much more than the one you're looking at, @Cappo - from a Porsche dealer, with nearly 3 years Porsche warranty and roadside assist.

I also think it's a bit fishy a car with such low mileage is offered outside the official dealer network - be wary. It's a buyer's market and deals can be had.

Yes, Porsche Bristol - I've had great service from them for the few years I've owned Porsches. Ask for James and tell him I sent you! ?.

Actually, my car was from Tewkesbury, but it's the same group so they brought it down for me - they've got Swindon and Newport, too.

Another vote for James at Bristol, he’s brilliant. I would also drive a 4S before committing to RWD. I was adamant I only needed/wanted a RWD and placed my order for one. After long talks with James (ok, he’s a salesman but wasn’t being pushy) he convinced me to drive a 4S and the difference was remarkable.

Ok thanks for suggestion! I'm sure I'd love the 4S but I think the RWD will be a nice introduction to the world of Porsche and will keep the insurance and BIK a bit lower

Cheers

I’d be shocked if it made any sizeable difference to the insurance - £100 if any, as to the BIK again I think it would be small as we are talking a few % points on the list price difference? If difference is £20k then it would be say £600 at 3%?

Overall I think the car should have been about £15k-£20k lower priced and it feels odd it’s not being sold by a Porsche dealer.

I just checked the insurance quotes and you're right... not much difference... that opens it up for me! Cheers
