I was driving my son to school this morning when out of nowhere I received 4 warnings:
  • Camera system error (Service necessary)
  • Left high beam headlight defective (Check high beam headlight)
  • Right high beam headlight defective (Check high beam headlight)
  • Emergency Stop function not available (Temporary condition, Continued driving possible)
Driving was not impacted, as far as I could tell, and I was able to drop off my son and make it home. I've plugged in my car to charge and will restart it to see if the error codes repeat. Has anyone else had this same sequence of errors appear?

I got all of those the first week I had my car. But there were no issues and they’ve never reappeared.
I'm guessing/hoping that it was just another random quirky message that seem to happen from time to time. That said, I can't believe I'm saying that...

I had the same thing occur on two occasions. Both times it was after washing the car. The most recent errors thrown were
  • Emergency Stop function not available (Temporary condition, Continued driving possible)
  • PDLS+ error - light cannot move??? - I was driving and didn't get the exact error message.
  • Brake sensor error - I was driving and didn't get the exact error message.
I was still able to drive the car to my destination. As it was pointed out I am hoping it was just a random quirky message. Although, I wished Porsche would do something about these quirky messages cause they are annoying and anxiety-inducing.

I've gotten these warnings from heavy rain. Errors cleared after restart with no rain.

I've not had a repeat so perhaps it was just a random, annoying message. ??

I have an appointment tomorrow for the WNA5 update and wonder if that may not introduce a software change that will affect this type of message and prevent it from occurring again?!?

Not sure what year your 4 S is but after getting the letter for software update my dealer told me it was already installed during a previous update.

Had n1 and n4 repeatedly, they cleared after locking the car for a few mins. n2 and n3 I had them only on the back lights. I had to replace hardware components for the lights, it was not just a reset/sw update.

Mine is a 2021 4S. With all the software updates that have been performed on mine so far (including the WNA5 just today) I would think that it there was an update to address it specifically then it's been applied.

Just had a bunch pop up last night driving home, after I had my Taycan sitting outside for several hours (frosted up when I got back). It was just one message after another - rear camera fault, headlight direction fault, and one other I don't remember. After about 5 minutes of driving all the errors went away and I didn't notice any problems with driving while the errors were displayed. I tried to push buttons to get the errors to go away (when they were there) but nothing changed. This is a very software complicated machine . . . .

I got a slew of messages similar to this earlier today, culminating with the Emergency Stop not available. This was on a return trip home, 80F, no rain. Pulled over, turned the car off, turned it back on, no more errors, drove it home another 50 miles, no repeat. Car is only 6 months old, so if something craps out warranty should cover it, though I'd prefer not to have to repair it in the first place, so hoping it was just a software glitch.

After only two days of ownership I also had these errors on a long trip recently … and posted it here …. the errors went away for me while driving and accepting through all the alarms from the steering wheel controls….. and I have not seen them since. I had a driver in an suv come hammering up to the back of my car as I approached traffic and almost come into that back of me when this all happened so I had assumed that had triggered some collision avoidance issue …. But I guess that was pure coincidence.

I see these clusters of errors and it really sounds Like a CANbus error. Like low priority health messages aren't making it through because of congestion or poor wiring.

That's based on my experience dealing with high school students installing CANbus managed devices on FRC robots that they wire to look like someone gave a spider LSD.

If it is just messages being dropped and the PCM warning that the headlight failed to get its once per second check in on time it's an easy enough software fix, change the logic to require 5 consecutive failed check ins prior to an alert. Should reduce false positives to about zero.

Common source of CAN bus errors in cars, flaky ground connection (typically to the body of the car).

Too many to list. Includes a MY23 Taycan RWD

"Emergency Stop function not available (Temporary condition, Continued driving possible)"

I sometimes get that when I enter the car that is parked in the sun.

I assume that since those systems rely on the inbuilt camera and since cameras tend to shut down in extreme temperatures, it happens. The message usually goes away in minutes

Does it come at the end of a bunch of other warnings? I didn't catch all of them as they came in quick succession. It did happen shortly after starting to drive (maybe 2 minutes).
