So, My PPF I only did on front bumper, half of hood and mirrors. This is Ok on white but not recommended on "colors" since you will see the line on the hood.
Also, I mentioned I negotiated out the wheel protection road rash option. I only want to be covered on major damage. I can get road rash fixed myself for $125 at local shop.

I think my dealer quoted me the same but I tweaked them to where I am at.

I spec'd the same car 3 months apart. Both 2022, and there's a $4500 difference. I looked through every item, and found subtle changes. Sharing here as I've not come across any such thing before. Also, this focuses on the Premium Package (so US customers only). Just FYI

Half hood will get ugly eventually especially on a light color car. I had one back in the days and dust started accumulate along the cutoff line. I would definitely opt to do a full front for a $100k+ car. My full front wrap with custom cut (not kit) is only $600 more than yours in the San Francisco Bay area. I believe DFW area should have similar price.

Where'd you get your car wrapped? I'm in the Bay Area and looking for a custom PPF.

Also just found out about the stop order on matrix lights (all incl glacier blue and black).

The Matrix lights include:
- high beam assist
- dynamic cornering
- speed dependent headlight range control
- sport mode

Do the standard non-matrix ones have any of those features?

From the configurator, if you configure a CT4, look at the option for the PDLS+.

Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+)

Includes:
  • Dynamic Cornering Light - Dynamic cornering lights swivel the low beam in accordance with cornering characteristics, depending on the steering angle.

  • Speed-Dependent Headlight Range Control - Speed-dependent headlight range control increases light distribution after 3,300 feet at 68 mph or higher, or immediately after 81 mph and above provided the steering wheel is not turned sharply.

  • Sport Mode - Activated in Sport mode - allows for greater swivel angle depending on steering input.

  • High Beam Assistant - When a camera located inside the rear-view mirror detects the headlights of an oncoming vehicle, the high beams are automatically turned off at a distance of approximately 2,600 feet. If the taillights of a vehicle traveling in front are detected, the high beam is then turned off at a distance of approximately 1,300 feet

There have been indicators everywhere that pricing would go up for everything globally. Used cars were a great indicator that Porsche could start charging more for their cars. The thing is that these increases are pretty much the same as "temporary" tolls or taxes. Once they are there, they rarely if ever go backwards.

Looks to be about 3% - my bet is that their costs over the last 24 months have gone up substantially more than that!

Everything is just more expensive, so it's not really a surprise. Labor too! Baskin Robbins in rural parts of California is paying its 'scoopers' $20/hr right now just to keep em from moving somewhere else that will pay the same or more. I doubt this changes anytime soon.

its formfactor is identical. Yes more functional with the option, but esthetically, little to no difference.

see i think this is wrong

The standard equipment, with no options chosen, is simplify “LED Headlights” and “Four-point LED daytime running lights”. The options with PDLS+ are all “Matrix Design”. So i think in the absence of Matrix lighting option, you don’t get any of those PDLS+ features. no high-beam assist, no cornering, etc.

That is a very functional impact, not just looks (for U.S.)

OK, checked with dealer. The base CT comes with the standard LED lighting. The CT4S comes with the non-matrix LED PLDS+, with all the good stuff. It’s just the matrix-design thats on a stop-order, which as others have mentioned doesn’t work in the U.S. anyway

If I look under Standard Equipment on my MY 2022 4S I find:

Lighting
LED Headlights including Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS+)

All of the LED-Matrix headlight options include PDLS+. There are additional functions available with the LED-Matrix headlights which were turned off for the US market. Even if you could currently get the LED-Matrix headlights they are programmed, in the US, to work exactly like the LED headlights, including PDLS+.

On the base model Taycan the LED Headlights with PDLS+ are a $1300 option, they are standard on the 4S.

However, in the next 24 months, LED-Matrix functionality is set to be legal in the US. It will be interesting to see if they can just turn-on the functionality, for those that already have the LED-Matrix lights, or if there will be different ones available in the US. It would be nice if you could retrofit them once they are available and legal in the US.
