My bad. Sorry for the immature nature of the post.

Yes, let’s all calm down and move the conversation over to something more agreeable.Hey all, can we please stop these argumentations and bad language in this thread now? It is not up to the standard that we have kept up very well so far.
Administrator I suggest we close this thread since we have moved away from facts and this bickering does not solve anything.
thanks
It does appear the risk of fire is overblown but Porsche’s actions such as trying to blame customer’s inferior wiring & receptacles in their homes as the reason they want you to charge at a lower current or time.Gentlemen, frankly, all these concerns and insistence on the supposed fire issues are getting tiring. The Taycan has experienced an extremely small number of fire incidents compared to other electric cars, and these cases are absolutely negligible relative to the total number of units sold.
Unlike other manufacturers, Porsche has likely issued widespread recalls out of caution and professionalism, and it is actively implementing software-based monitoring systems.
Beyond that, one could just argue about the range, especially for the first version, but in my opinion, the Taycan remains an absolutely fantastic car, unmatched in many aspects.
This unfounded fear does not do justice to the product. There are certainly many owners who, like myself, are in love with this vehicle. Period.
Not sure... I'm 3mo and 3.5k miles in on a Macan EV and it's been fine. No software or hardware issues other than the timers for charging behaving different than they do on Taycan. The Macan EV is having endless HW and SW issues? So Porsche learned nothing from their experience with the Taycan?
I actually had a great call with a Porsche charging specialist through Porsche North America customer service. I asked them if I’m safe to use my 120V charger as long as I don’t use it more than 12 hours a day. I told them I was concerned about the 2022 Porsche Service Bulletin stating the 125V charger should only be used for emergency charging, limit to 12 hours maximum only for emergencies and not to be used on a daily basis.I also am an engineer and believe you are not interpreting the rationale for the 120v charging restriction. My understanding is this has nothing to do with concern that the continuous load will overheat feeders or receptacles, it’s that at 1-1.2kw there is minimal actual charging since there is loss to heat, inefficiency, and parasitic loads since misc items are energized while charging. I also believe it has something to do with it being bad for long term battery health to trickle such a low charge for extended periods of time. A plug-in hybrid is a better option for someone who is limited to 120v power and charges at home.
That’s great news!!!!I actually had a great call with a Porsche charging specialist through Porsche North America customer service. I asked them if I’m safe to use my 120V charger as long as I don’t use it more than 12 hours a day. I told them I was concerned about the September 2022 Porsche Service Bulletin stating the 125V charger should only be used for emergency charging, limit to 12 hours maximum and not to be used daily. She looked up my vin on my 2021 delivered in 2022 which I purchased as CPO November 2023. She said that my vehicle had the charging system corrected or cleared of this service bulletin which is why my dealer stated there is no restriction for my vehicle outlined in the service bulletin.
I was told there is no issue for me charging as long as I wish as long as I comply with Porsche recommendations for the proper wiring & outlet which can sustain at least the 1.2KW charging rate which I have.
She did admit that campaign back in September 2022 was partly related to improper wiring/receptacles at customer residences but there was also external Porsche chargers which required replacement as well as components on the onboard charger.
My vehicle had this work completed prior to my CPO purchase which is why I was told at the time of purchase as well as today that I can charge as long as I wish using the Porsche 120V charger and can use it on a daily basis with zero risk of fire or damage to the HV battery. It was a relief to hear this from Porsche first hand since my service advisor recently told me they have numerous Taycan owners using 120V chargers in their garages for daily use, have had no issues with their chargers, the on board charging systems, with zero negative impact on the HV batteries themselves.
In summary I was told my 2021 Taycan has been cleared of this service bulletin from 2022.
This issue has been resolved at least for me so I no longer have to worry if my charger, charging system or HV battery will be damaged or pose a fire risk.
Anyone worried about their specific vehicle as it relates to the 2022 Porsche service bulletin should contact Porsche customer service to have them research your VIN to determine if the repairs or modifications had been completed under that campaign which is no longer active.

The Macan is on a new platform, takes time to weed out the problems...The Macan EV is having endless HW and SW issues? So Porsche learned nothing from their experience with the Taycan?
Well, the early LG Chem batteries in the MY 2020 are indeed no good, but after that the batteries are much better. Time will tell, but your post is way too pessemistic!...Taycan and they refused to buy a Taycan because the battery issues with the models 2020-2024...
I really hope your right but I don’t see a 10x reduction in price in only 3 more years.Well, the early LG Chem batteries in the MY 2020 are indeed no good, but after that the batteries are much better. Time will tell, but your post is way too pessemistic!
Also battery prices are still dropping. When the warranty is up, entire replacement battery packs will be less than 5k for Porsche to purchase.
That's pretty pessimistic as well.Well, the early LG Chem batteries in the MY 2020 are indeed no good
The Porsche TSB issued in July, 2022, says 120v supply cable for Porsche Mobile chargers is for emergency use only in USA.In summary I was told by Porsche NA Customer Service my 2021 Taycan CPO had been cleared of this service bulletin from 2022 before I took delivery and can charge as long as I need to with zero risk.
