After 7 months of trouble free motoring with my used 2022 Taycan, my heater failed on Saturday. I am currently awaiting a call back from the Porsche service centre.

Not conclusive but:

Affected Production Period

Most Vulnerable Units: Vehicles manufactured prior to February 14, 2023, are equipped with the "unoptimized" heater modules prone to failure due to internal circuit board defects.

Expansion to Newer Models

Although Porsche initially targeted 2020–2021 models for early service campaigns, many 2022, 2023, and early 2024 models have experienced the same total loss of cabin heat.

Current Campaign Scope:

Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) and warranty extension notices issued as recently as late 2025 specifically reference the 2020–2024 range. Some owners of 2025 models have also reported receiving notices for monitoring, though the "optimized" parts were standard in production from mid-2023 onwards.

Reliability Cut-off

Vehicles manufactured after mid-2023 (Model Year 2024) are widely considered more reliable by experts and service personnel, as they were fitted with updated heater hardware from the factory. If you are purchasing a used Taycan in 2026, verification that the heater was replaced under campaign WSD8 or WPL8 is recommended for any vehicle built before February 2023.

26th February is the earliest they can do. Looks like I have a few weeks of cold journeys!

Not being able to demist or defrost properly may become a safety issue, it's not just being cold that's the problem.
If you go through Porsche assistance, they may have access to loaners at your dealer that the dealer does not control.
If I was near enough to drive there myself (mine was recovered) I could have had a Macan.
