I was shocked - in a bad - way when I got my base Macan loaner.
Couldn't believe how bad it was.

The lag when you put your foot down actually made me laugh out loud, it was awful.
I felt it could actually be dangerous for anyone coming from a Taycan.

It reminded me of driving hire cars I had in the 1980s.
Just returned the Macan Loaner. Engine felt like a rubber band. I would floor the go pedal, the car would then rev up and 2 seconds later, the car would finally accelerate.

It was tolerable if I kept the car in 2nd gear, but the problem was that it would not stay there for long, naturally went back to 4th or 5th gear.

This discussion is good for my soul - I'm not alone! I had the same experience and at the time, I thought it must just be me. I HATED the base model Macan loaner. I could not wait to get the Taycan back. I don't want to lay it on too thick, but I'd say the Macan had only slightly better power and handling than our Toyota Sienna or Honda Ridgeline, and I much prefer our '22 BMX X5 xdrive40i - it's quicker, has smoother acceleration, and handles at least as well despite being larger. I would buy the X5 over the Macan.

Perhaps I was extra let down because I was excited to get a chance to drive the Macan - I had read such good things - and it just didn't live up to the hype.

We've gotten a base Macan loaner both times when our Taycan was in for service. Both times I left it parked in the garage the entire week except for a couple short trips. I did time 0-60 at 8 seconds with it. I see the Macan as a vehicle for people who derive status via a badge. It's an embarrassment if it's supposed to be an enthusiast vehicle.

I really hoped to try a Macan EV during the latest time.

My '22 4sis in the shop for an airbag system error. 😕.
They have a base Macan as a loaner and I have to say, what a let down. The center screen is about the same size as the TAycan's, but CarPlay is presented in a tiny window that makes hitting icons a crap shoot. Slow, noisy, slow throttle response. It doesn't even sound good. How does Porsche sell so many of these things???
Just one person's opinion, but I want my Taycan back ASAP.
Wow.. so ironic! Took my baby in for a recall situation. The only loaner at the dealership was a pretty much loaded up Macan as well. Brand new 2025 with 195 miles on it. I was floored! I couldn’t believe the lag. There was no get up an go!! I was soooooo unimpressed! The Macon was beautiful but nothing else was appealing because there was no power!!

I know everyone's hating on the Macan, but let me chime in that the Panamera is just as bad. When I took my Taycan in a bit ago, I got a Panamera and it would also take what felt like two full seconds to react to me pressing the gas pedal. That felt extremely dangerous. I was told by my friends and the dealership that it was "just how turbo engines work" - yikes. I don't know how anyone could live with that kind of reaction delay, much less pay a premium for it.

Thank whatever gods that the Taycan exists.

As the title of this thread attests: the Taycan experience has spoiled you ;).

Then you have to pay a hacker to enable full screen CarPlay and AA and it looks crips and colorful.
FWIW, and for others who may be interested, you don't need to pay someone to "upgrade" to full screen CarPlay. I followed the instructions on Rennlist when I enabled full screen on my mom's Macan. It's pretty easy and straightforward.

Share your sentiment! Had a Macan T for a week and felt like driving glorified VW crossover.

At a slight tangent...when I went in to get my wheels swapped for winter, where previously there'd been a long row of used Taycans there were now only Macans.
