Hi All

A tree fell on my taycan whilst away and has dented the front fender & cracked the panoramic roof.

Does anyone have experienxe changing the front fenders? I am trying to figure out whether to replace or take it to the bodyshop to fill and paint?

Also with the roof, I asked my local windscreen shop & they aee reticent due to the tech in the headliner.

Does anyone have suggestions for either?

I think I am going to sell it.

Ouch, surely an insurance job though? Then sell after?

Have you actually taken it to either Porsche approved bodyshop or an independent specialist to get a quote yet?

Surely that’s the only way you’re going to know whether it’s worth repairing through insurance, keeping or selling.

no glass shop will be able to fix it for you, you'll need to go through porsche.
as for the bumper, without pics no advice can be offered

Seriously?

You're in for a lumpy bill, possibly up to 10k. How much do you think your premium would be? What excess do you have?

What issues would having the car parked on your own drive cause?

Sounds a bit far fetched.

why would I voluntarily take it to Porsche - they are just gonna rip me off unless I am mistaken?

where do you get 10k from?

Replacement wings are 500GBP, new glass for the panoramic is 1,200GBP.

as the post said, my local garage are not sure about replacing the glass due to the tech under the headliner so I came here for advice not condemnation.

my 2 questions were has anyone experience removing the headliner, any thoughts on replacing the front wing versus sending it to the bodyshop.

How it became 10k & why I am suddenly the enemy for not wanting to send it to Porsche to rip me off before looking at alternative solutions I have no idea. Hence why I came to this forum. If I wanted minimum hassle i would have avoided the forum and just dropped it straight at Porsche with my trousers down ready to assume the position.

hmm maybe some translation thing here, for me I mean front wing that's the panel over the front wheels. I used the term fender to be understood internationally but maybe fender means bumper?

Wow, I think you might be over reacting a bit. I suggest you find some nice eggnog and take a few deep breaths. It will all be fine in the long run.
