Trip logger/maps?

Not off to a good start with TRONITY: it is failing to retrieve any data from the car. I've contacted their support people.

I haven’t found anything similar which would collect and present data from a Taycan. Has anyone else?

Car Scanner ELM OBD2 shows trip on Google Maps, when "Record location data" is enabled in Data Recording.

Sensors from archive trips are displayed as charts, or as route on map (chart+map).

Press Disconnect before closing the app, else trip will not be stored.

That seems to happen, I tried it in 2021 and again in 2022, but the system failed to get the information from Porsche they said. I got about part of one trip for 3 trips done! So not very useful.

From the screenshots earlier though, they seem to have unlocked many more features now though. So that data must be available to be extracted somehow if Tronity can get it.

The position of the vehicle is available via the Porsche API – (see my library for an example: https://github.com/driven-app/porsche-connect#position-of-a-vehicle).

Therefore, if you want to plot a route, you just have to keep polling the API at an interval that is appropriate.

I believe TRONITY used to go through a third party provider for access to the Porsche APIs – but it is now an officially supported app via Porsche OAuth – so they appear to be calling the official APIs directly.

I used to use them – but found it inaccurate enough – that it just annoyed me. I might give it another go to see if the direct connection delivers better results.

I agree it was u reliable and then became frustrating trying to get it to work. Tronity tried very hard to help out but it did not improve.

I have seen in the Privacy approval part of the website, that they have some test app for approval, and there it seems to be for quite a lot of parameters? But no idea if that only is for internal use etc.

I also had to contact them end of last year for connection problems and there was no update.
The support was nice and helpfull and it was working for a while.
And at the end of january they told me that there were testing a new API with Porsche and I had to stop the connexion and fully reconnect with Porsche.
Since then I have no issue appart when the car is in the garage and have no connexion to the Porsche servers but that's the same for the My Porsche app. (I wish they would allow Wifi connexions)
