Check where there would be any drain channels for the fixed glass roof? Why would there be any?

If you want a roof-rack, you have to get the glass roof. If you get the glass roof, they automatically put in channels/grooves/whatever they're called into the roof either side of the glass for a rack/bars to locate in to. They apparently can get blocked.

The sting in the tail here is the £180 / HR labour charge of which you need 2.5hrs.

What’s the general view in getting the water lines checked as part of the service?
I would have thought it there was an issue it should be covered under the warranty. But it seems a bit risky not to get it checked?

Get it checked - it was on the 2 year service checklist so unless it has been removed and now removed via an 'arbitrary haggle' or actually no longer required, I would still stick to the checklist. It is a piece of nonsense in terms of cost but we kinda accept this (and more) when "investing" in the brand.

I just got mine back after a service at Cardiff and it was a lower than what they quoted.

To my surprise the only billed me for 48minutes for the water drain check.

The main inspection plus brake fluid was £336.65 + VAT which I think is very good

The water drain check was £134.46 + VAT

I did need 4 new tyres at £1100 which was surprise, but if you need, them you need them!

Never buy tyres from a dealer, unless they are prepared to match prices with other outlets (Micheldever, Black circles, Oponeo etc).

Other things to watch - always make sure your screen wash is topped up. On ICE vehicles, ask for the price they are charging for oil and insist they match other outlets on that too (eg Opie) or supply your own. It's eye watering what they charge when you consider what they must pay buying in bulk.

Yep, I doubt you would do much better than that for NFO marked tyres
