I got the same price from Porsche Reading. My local (Bristol) wanted £1200, as did the others in the same group. Great service from Reading, and a quiet work area (plus lunch laid on).

I think the key thing when discussing with a dealer is not so much where they are, but that these prices are available.

£50 either way is maybe OK for convenience. Beyond that is a piss take.

EVs should be cheaper than ICE to service. They need to get out of the habit of reaming customers unnecessarily (big shiny showrooms don't count).

I would strongly advise 'yes' (UK) - particularly when with Porsche warranty. Apart from anything else a non-franchised dealer may not have access to the full Porsche maintenance (recall campaigns, campaigns in general) tooling and may not be able to maintain the car's electronic Smart Service feature.

Personal choice but I wouldn't deviate and these services typically are more involved than you might imagine. Costs are high (any Porsche - £400 for a 1st oil service on a Macan T) due to high labour rates.

I’m pretty disappointed with Sheffield Porsche. Despite having to replace the brake fluid for the recall they won’t reduce the service cost carried out at the same time, thot includes replacing the brake fluid.

So my car is now due it's 2nd service and the level of conflicting information is disappointing.

Reading have quoted £475 for the service, £163 for a Visual inspection of underbody panels, steering, suspension, oil / fluid leaks, removal of wheels to check brakes.

Bristol have quoted £320 for the service and £510 for the door sill check.

Does the door sill check have to be done ?, or is this another way for Porsche to fleece us !. Porsche Reading didn't have anything on thier system to say my car needed the drainage holes checked !

Arrrrrg !! it's so annoying, I have no idea which OPC to believe.

its a joke; it feels like they are making up things to change for. Most of which is "check". Do they actually do anything? replace a part, etc ? (aside from brake fluid and cabin filters)

1st service (2yr) booked to coincide with brake pipe recall...

£440 inc. filters/brake fluid change. Initial quote included 'door sill check' @ £999 overall...

Honestly, this is not going to encourage people into EVs...the simple fact is that the service burden on EVs is way less than on ICE vehicles - the variable pricing within the brand and across brands within the same group is the icing on the cake. The industry, manufacturers/brands need to get this sorted...

That said, I do appreciate the common sense of doing the required PSM module reprogramming and heater replacement at the same time (heater has been fine from day 1 but there is clearly a reliability concern and getting the updated replacement installed just before the colder months is useful). But completely undermined by them needing the car for two days (?) and charging me £15/day for the courtesy car...not really a courtesy car then is it Porsche, its essentially a hire car that I'm paying for the privilege of having, whilst you recover your own shortfalls

I'm ambivalent on the £15 per day. I believe it's insurance cover, and tbh far cheaper than an actual hire car or even public transport.

Thus far, my dealer have handled all warranty and service work really well, despite the car not being bought through them.

However, once they had the car, they then said the battery drains and bulkheads needed checking for an additional ~£500 incl vat). They also wanted to do aircon service as well. No mention at time of quote, just said they needed checking, they had no idea if they were blocked or not and said it would invalidate warranty if they later turned out to be blocked and cause a problem.
Turned an inline/good value quote into the most expensive one i saw and was somewhat trapped into as they had the car. I'd add that the different dealers do all seem to include different things/describe things differently.

So my advice is check everything they actually think needs doing before making your mind up about what's actually the best option for you.

No mention at time of quote, just said they needed checking, they had no idea if they were blocked or not and said it would invalidate warranty if they later turned out to be blocked and cause a problem.

You might also find that they are wanting to check the water drains for the openable sun roof! ( or maybe they have now decided to skip this attempt!) My service advisor quickly revised his quote when he could not find out how to open the “”SunRoof””!

Yes I have the same experience.

Looking at all the recalls and service bulletins, ther is no doubt in my mind that the Taycan was a very rushed project to market, for Porsche. They focused on the driving experience, which they nailed! Hopefully they can and will correct all the other issues.

Hmmmm. The amount they charged me is ridiculous then. One thing to put something right, but another just to check. Inference was it was complicated procedure. Crappy, though i did browbeats them into a goodwill gesture.

I would speak directly to the service manager. My local dealer were insistent on email that they wouldn’t reduce the service cost for the brake fluid which was also being changed at the same time as the brake pipe recall. One email to the manager and he reduced the service by £179
