USA Taycan insurance.

The OP disappeared, but good discussion. I looked into the coverage before placing the order and my State Farm agent said there is nothing special or unusual to insure it, which was the answer I was hoping for. As others said, many factors contribute but I would fall into a common category where you have 2 adults in the family with 3 cars and a teenager not yet driving, with no claims record and typical annual mileage, with $1,000 deductible, this is what we pay in Indiana annually with them billing us every 6 months, so for the Taycan that seems to align with many on this thread with similar multi-line policies:

$684: 2016 Macan
$972: 2020 Cayenne
$1,140: 2023 Taycan

I have used Liberty Mutual for both homeowners insurance and our cars for years. They may not be the cheapest but in my experience they are the best when you need them the most. Years ago when Hurricane Sandy hit in NJ they essentially gave me a blank check and said let us know how much you need for the repairs. Their adjuster said as long as you use reputable contractors and amounts look reasonable for your area they don’t question it. Friends of mine with other carriers who pay less in premium had massive fights to get paid properly and many had losses because of it.

2020 Taycan Turbo S with $500 deductible. Premium is $1,924 annual. I think with some multi-policy and good driver discounts.

With the major caveat that all this is so dependent upon a myriad of details:

• Two drivers, husband & wife, both in their 50s (still two yrs until our daughter gets learner's permit), no moving violations in many years (maybe that will change with my upcoming Taycan, or my wife's newly purchased i4 M50!), last claim was Nov '19, trivial fender bump, other driver's 100% fault.
• Safe college town, although with strange Massachusetts insurance regs.
• Home insurance, umbrella policy, and wife's life insurance are also all w/ USAA.
• Policy would have three cars for those two drivers, '22 A6ar, '23 i4 M50, and '22 4CT, with the 4CT replacing an old Subaru.
• Incremental cost to replace a '19 Subaru Impreza worth ~$16k with a '22 4CT worth ~$90k is only $1,082 from USAA.
• That seems too low even for a comparably priced ICE, but definitely shows that at least for our situation, USAA is not overly concerned about insuring a Porsche EV.

Yes, I use them, and they are extremely affordable. As long as you have one Porsche on the policy you can add non-Porsche cars too, so adding my M5 in the next month or so when I get around to it.

Not sure whether it is available in New York, but we switched over to Porsche's own insurance and, given the low mileage we drive now we're both working from home, we're saving a lot over our previous Geico policy. They cover my Taycan and my wife's Audi Q5 and guarantee OEM parts for all repairs.

We pay every 6 months (they do offer monthly billing too, but there was a fee for that), and only have to submit a photo of both odometers just before the renewal.

I know one other person here who switched before we did, and they had a relatively large claim (5 digits) for damage caused by somebody breaking in to check for stuff the trunk by flipping down the back seats (it's a thing in the SF Bay Area at the moment). It was approved without any push back.

I use an insurance broker for all policies (cars, boat, home) which works with many companies and have found the premiums to be more reasonable than the national carriers which advertise.

Atlanta area, 5k mi/yr.
Nationwide (and Liberty Mutual) refused to insure the Taycan when I called. So 9 months from now I'll be migrating away from them for everything else more than likely. Progressive quoted ~$2800/6mo. SF quoted ~$1800/6mo. Allstate wanted ~$1500/6mo. GEICO wouldn't quote me unless I called and went through a whole thing since I just switched away 3 months ago.

*update Allstate did 1150/6mo if paid up front (with a ~$150 "purchased online" discount). Best I found by a good margin while searching around.

I pay $670 / 6 mo. at State Farm. I also have my ferrari and vw golf on there, along with a home owners, rental and umbrella insurance.
