Hi all,

I have the option to choose between a Turbo and Turbo S. There is a £13k difference between the two. Like both but slightly prefer the Turbo S.

Wanted your advice on the situation as I'm really torn on the situation. Also should I be worried about breaks or anything else on a car with 30k milage (Turbo)?

Both are a decent spec but big points would be:
- Turbo S doesn't have ACC/InnoDrive (annoyingly)
- Turbo doesn't have HUD
- Turbo doesn't have PDCC

Turbo S option list (~10k milage):

No ACC would be a deal-breaker for me! No HUD is good. I'm on my second Taycan – a Turbo S – both new from factory. I do not get a sense that Taycan's are getting more unreliable with age. The unreliable aspects – mostly charging related – seem to happen regardless.

I've never driven a Porsche that didn't have PDCC – and always spec'd it out of fear that I'd miss it. I really have no clue how much it is contributing to my driving experience. I suspect for ordinary use – you would not be able to tell a difference.

I vote for the Turbo S… I have innodrive but don’t drive enough in freeway traffic to use it. PDCC is a better option for me.

I've owned the Turbo and now own the Turbo S, I'd go for the Turbo every time. The Turbo S has a lower range by about 40-50 miles. The ceramic brakes on the Turbo S are great on short journeys but find they have what seems to be a film on them when driving long distances in the rain, it can take slightly longer to react (IMHO).
The Turbo S accerelates a little quicker, but what's the point when you have to travel 15 MPH slower to match the range on the Turbo. I want to travel 200 miles without recharging.
I suggest you drive them both on the motorway, look out for the difference in road noise as the Turbo doesn't have insulated glass.
Also check out the comfort seats vs the sports seats.
I do a lot of long journeys, hence my comments, if you are only knocking around town then ignore what I said

Like the OP I am looking at a pre registered Turbo & TS. Do you find there is really that much difference in the range between the two? What would the real world average range be in both? Currently have an i4 M50 which does around 180 miles in winter and 230 miles in summer.

With the Turbo at 85% I would get 210 miles and at 100% around 240
With the Turbo S at 85% this morning I got 177 miles and at 100% I see around 200 miles

That is a bigger diffence than I thought. Think will go with the Turbo as I do a regular trip from Ipswich to Sheffield which is around 185 miles so might be pushing it in the winter in the TS without a stop. Thanks for replying.

Hi David,
Apparently the ST and CT are less aerodynamic than the original Taycan so that might have also had a bearing.
My Turbo was an original 2020 and the Turbo S is an ST

I am looking at a 2023 Pre Registered original. Have read elsewhere that the TS has less range. Took a GTS ST out last week and that showed a range of 250 at 95% charge when I switched it to range mode.

250 @ 95% is the dream!
