In a perfect world, I'd only use one. Is it possible? I don't drive far from home but will be soon heading to Yosemite from San Diego, then to Berkeley, and then home.

I'd prefer to use Electrify-America since I am still on their free 30-mins plan.

My apologies to non-US drivers if you have apps we don't, or vice versa.

Waze always (best crowd sharing, real-time alerts); ABRP & PCM on trips with multiple charging stops.

Planning for a long distance trip would involve ABRP and Plugshare but "while driving long distance" it's the PCM that I rely on. It's not all that great at adapting for road delays so Waze is usually open on the phone, but the PCM is the primary app for determining the route.

Of course, Waze! As the OP I neglected to add that one. I haven't tried it in a while. Does it still have that voiceover that sounds high when he says "haaaaazaard aheaaaaaad."

Waze. People driving along share police position, speed traps, accidents, hazards on the road and it shows speed limits.
but not charging stations....

ABRP for scouting/at my desk, PCM en route/behind the wheel.
Apple Maps for local jaunts (no charging). I can spot an unmarked cop going on the opposite sense of a divided highway at 70+, which is to say if I'm speeding my head is on a swivel.

I have found the PCM OK/best so far on motorways.

I am not a Waze fan for cross country routes, so far its routes have been the worst I have ever had proposed. A friend tells me it is great in congested cities and it does warn of potholes, speed cameras etc. but useless so far for me. I deleted it after scratching both sides of my Prius simultaneously on a narrow route it sent me down with no passing places for miles.

I have used ABRP and ZapMap for routes but check with a paper map too ‘cause the algorithm doesn’t get it right on cross country routes (Try calculating the route in both directions and see if the rote is the same)

So far the only satnav I have tried which gives good quick cross country routes is the Toyota Prius one, not much use in my Taycan but I usually remember the routes.
The best placed high power charger on my most frequent route isn’t on the PCM map so I can’t preheat for it but I do know where it is ;)

I have to use PCM for battery pre-heat on long runs for fast charging but in the UK, Waze is far better for traffic info, police etc - so it is always on my phone at the same time.
Also I find that because the PCM never chooses the charging points I want to go to, I end up putting in a route to the charger I want and no further, so good to have Waze showing the whole trip.

The route need not be the same in both directions.. right? Roughly speaking, yes, but when it comes to actual stops or small detours, the route is unlikely to be symmetrical.
