@kort , @submatrix : Nope... A doesn't work for me.
No recuperation during downhill ... no recuperation on local streets.
When I set back to "non-A", it worked as expected.

Auto recuperation mode works to keep you back from vehicles in front of you. It coasts when nothing is in front of you and then uses recuperation to keep you back from vehicles. So its a hybrid of coasting and recuperation depending on traffic conditions.

It does this only by using the camera – so you get a slightly similar experience as using ACC in traffic without having to spec the radar unit. It would not be as reliable – especially in rain/fog as using the radar.

Understood.
By now, I found normal recuperation more useful, since i don't need to use breaks if i want to slow down...

Speaking about bugs: is there any list of known bugs?

Also what bothers you the most?
I feel stupid that pedal recuperation has to be set on every time again and again.
at least, if it could be able to use diamond button for that….but no…press on car, select recuperarion, set it on….three clicks every time when i start driving….:headbang:
also the same steps after you change drive mode…
Don´t you have the button with the battery on it to select recuperation mode? And the wheel to change drive mode should be included on every car, but I think it only comes with the sport chrono package...

My 2021 Turbo has more bugs than I can list, but here are some:

AC noise, loud clicking/electronic typewriter sound. Was not there when I purchased it, but is now, and Porsche seems to think it is normal. No other Taycan I've been in has the noise and it is factually not "normal".

LCA, when it rains says the sensor is blocked, guess the car isn't made for the rain

My PCM changes settings all the time, with no input from me. Minor settings like upper right temp to time, or more major, logging me off while driving and putting me in guest mode (sometimes it will not let me log back on, I'm greyed out and will not activate), to the passenger display settings changing all the time, sometimes it is there, sometimes it is off. and don't get me started on XM radio, lack of antenna.

I've had parking light failures, which cured themselves, then returned. My side mirrors occasionally don't fold down, even if I depress the button to manually activate

Two days ago my car, on its own, switched to German then later back to English

On top of that, I have a brake fade, that is disconcerting at best, given I can't depend on pedal feel being the same each time I brake.

I've sent Porsche videos and pictures of all the errors, warnings and notices, but they seem to think it is all normal, or if they can't duplicate it (on a very short test drive) they just don't touch it. Mind you they have the videos of the errors, the changes, the noise etc. It boggles my mind how unreliable the systems are.

I love Porsche and have owned 911s for many years, bought three new ones in the last 5 years, but this car is not up to standard (for a vehicle over $180,000 or any vehicle) and should never have been released until it was more settled.
I have experimented most of these bugs but on a very intermittent basis : clicking sound, PCM acting up, parking aid cameras, XM radio antenna warnings while the radio plays XM radio, etc. All resolve themselves at next startup.

But what really mystifies me is my actual situation where I travelled far away in a very remote location with no cellular coverage. The Taycan’s e-sim card provider relies on 3rd-parties in this region and therefore the car cannot access cellular data coverage. I can live without connected applications (AppleMusic, Weather, etc….) for the week I am away with no problems. What really strikes me is that I have lost my profile (being ghosted/greyed out) for most of my stay ever since I am without cellular data coverage. The car throws me every time in guest mode….

Until this morning, while still away out in the woods, the profile came right back up by itself, still without any cellular coverage. So how are profiles stored in the PCM as they do not seem to rely on cellular data to be acknowledged. But then how can it be that it also disappeared once I entered this no man’s zone of cellular network?

In my case, all important issues are fixed with the late August update.
There are arguably some usabillity glitches I can maneuver around.

Like the car a lot now!

I'm fairly sure vs. other auto manufacturers yours is the minority opinion (and you are a well know and documented Tesla hater, so your calling their software bad carries very little weight) and my personal opinion Tesla's software is pretty good - certainly way better than the Porsche crap - now saying it's good doesn't mean it's perfect and doesn't have bugs - but it's way better than any other auto I've owned.
I know, I am a hater and the Navi is amazing! But isn't it strange that you have sold yours, but insist even in a Porsche forum it is great and everybody should buy?

Anyway, I don't care about T because their tech is old.

I look at cars coming to market like "The Aion LX Plus from GAC's new energy vehicle subsidiary recently made it to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) product announcement in China with a 144.4 kWh battery pack, an energy density of 205 Wh/kg, and an impressive NEDC range of 1008 km."

With a USD 54k price tag, I wonder when will Porsche upgrade the Taycan model family with a battery like this?

@kort , @submatrix & @tigerbalm : finally learned how Autorecuperation works…. And I agree, that’s better than “nonA” mode. More smooth transition, very nice breaking (without breaks)…. So I’m using A now most of the time, while NonA is usefull for downhills.

thx again, guys
