Recall Campaign number : WPN8

After seeing the notice in the myporsche website, I booked in for the above recall: 2 month wait for a slot at the dealership, which has nearly arrived. However, i just noticed the recall is no longer showing in myporsche website or the DVLAs recall page.

Dealer hasn't contacted me. I'm loathed to email them as i can see them just cancelling it, then the recall reappearing.

Has anyone had this done? Wondering if they forced it over the air or something.

If it's not there anymore there probably is a new update that supersede that one. I know there is a new PCM build out in the wild. Just keep your slot. They will do the updates that Porsche in Germany has told them to do.

Yep, i think i'll leave it booked in. No recalls at all showing at moment. I will await the 'computer says no' conversation on Monday!

I was in the same situation. The notice disappeared from my Porsche page, but I still went , and they did something. Or at least they said they did.
I think they applied some update because my passenger screen now doesn’t work if a sensor doesn’t sense a passenger in the seat…

I had this update done and it fixed all of my problems with PCM hanging and requiring the 2 finger salute. I heard it was available and called the dealership. Oddly, one dealership told me there is no recall for my car. I called another (McKinney Porsche) and they said "Yup, bring it in..." Glad I called around and got it done. It's been smooth sailing since then. I was having to reboot literally about 20% of the time on startups.

Thanks. I’ve rarely had a problem with it hanging. Once or twice in 2 years maybe.

But the recall was showing on my / their systems.
I guess I’ll find out on Monday.

FWIW relative to the Porsche app informing about recalls, I had none showing. Received a call from my service center two weeks ago and I was told there were recalls and I should come in and have them done. When I arrived, I found there were a total of 4 recalls that I knew nothing about. They were:

  • APB6
  • WMP5
  • WPN9
  • WPS9

Mine was done yesterday. The WPN8 did need doing still and also mentioned another which was something to do with heating management or similar.

My 4S was in for the WPN8 campaign a couple of weeks ago. On arrival we were advised of a further 2 campaigns - WPS9 & WPK0, so three to be done in total. The PCM failed during the WPN8 campaign & bricked the car. A new PCM central computer was ordered, replaced and all campaigns carried out within 4 days. A loaner Taycan 4s was provided there and then for the week. Technicians said it was the first PCM central computer failure during the WPN8 update... All seems to be working so far..

Cases like yours are the reason why i’m glad that the bigger updates are not OTA. Imagine the panic when the car bricked itself during the night
