Very disappointing for those expecting delivery soon.

If it's any consolation, and linked to what @Fish Fingers highlighted about that other ship sinking in 2019, it took Porsche 4 months to not only restart production of an out-of-production car, but build and deliver to customers:

Where Porsche can build 40,000 Taycan's annually, it might be four months or less months wait for them to rush out an emergency build for waiting customers.

It does mean everyone else on the waiting list has their build time extended.

Oh man. What a mess. Seems like the crew got off in lifeboats

can only imagine the downstream impact this will have on future deliveries

1.117 Porsche on board. We do not know the product mix yet. Let’s suppose 2-300 Taycan lost that is roughly 2 days production capacity of this model variant.
So I do not expect significant delays on future deliveries.
Maybe the missing ship is a bigger issue as a lost transportation capacity.
That is another thing, owners of the cars lost will need extra 4-6 months waiting time that is really sad.

What a nightmare - hopefully all crew safe. Terrible news.

According to latest reports, all crew made it off the ship safely, nobody hurt.

So Porsche customers more than OK to cry about their cars lost at sea,
