MY20 4S - As far as I can tell, there has not been an OTA update for my car. I followed the instructions and have seen some minor differences in how the My Porsche app performs and some functionality changes. For my specific car it looks like this was, as others have pointed out, a backend upgrade and not an OTA update for the car.
Negatives:
- I can no longer send navigation location to vehicle. It looks like I can save a new favorite but I haven't actually tried it to confirm it works.
- there is now a place in the app to show favorites, but none of my favorites from the car are displayed there. Maybe this will update over time - would be kind of a nice to have.

Positives:
- The setting of timers and turning on pre-heat/pre-cool is much more reliable for me. I've only done it a handful of times since the update but it has worked 100% of the time, whereas previously it failed more often than it worked.

On balance, the positives are more important to me on a daily basis - if the timers and pre-heat/pre-cool continue to work more reliably I'd be a happy camper and say this upgrade was an improvement!

There are more issues with the app.
I'm having issues with sending destinations to the car.
It affects MY2020/2021 apparently...

It is still there, but first you should choose a destination en then the button appears again. At least in my app it workt like this. I also could connect my Spotify account in the app but it still does not appears in the car, which I expected by this OTA.. But this OTA most probably only update the App not the car...

Everything working for me. Maybe it's confirmation bias but it seems like the Apple services in the PCM are less laggy and buggy today.

yes I am tired of it (PCM, Connect) and I do not blame you, Dee, that you do not differ between ONA5 and ODP Backend migration. You are probably not an IT guy like me.

I can explain a bit, right now the Porsche API backend came back to life but is responding awfully slow:

here are some API calls

it took >50 sec for the trips to returned by the API

the 502 are probably some load balancers throwing errors while timing out to reach their downstream content.

I really wonder why nobody else is complaining. This cannot be an isolated problem usually.

I can confirm @rs38 that I am seeing the same 502's and timeouts against api.porshe.com at the moment.

As their "new" ODP cloud is hosted out of AWS in Dublin – was hoping I could look forward to very low latency!

Why post pictures of your OTA-update in our Taycan group on Facebook but not in here?
You were afraid to admit I was right?

I had 11 updates today — all relating to the “entertainment system” so PCM. Maps, etc. Happened will driving so could not really see what it all was.

Connection to the car goes on/off several times today.
I think I'll let it rest for this week and see if things improve next week.
We were notified that this would occur so I'm assuming they are just working on it.
Still, when I have contact with the car, the T/R works fine.

I‘ll never understand why people have to do everything they can to be negative.

The ONA5 update was interesting and it seems to be related to the email. I am wondering if the car does the update overnight when having enough charge and mobile connection.

Until yesterday I was not able to set timers at all or very rarely and now it’s pretty quick and works fine. Could be just my imagination.

Even if we only get a 10% quicker connection after yesterday, it is still better than nothing and at least we know they’re doing something. But for some reason people without a Taycan in their garage and others that are just trying spread maximum negativity are screaming the loudest. Stay calm, wait and see. We all want one thing and that is improvements and updates.

Could it be that those of us hanging on to the legacy Connect app and not using the MyPorsche are unaffected?

I'm using My Porsche and the update to the server seemed to go smoothly. All my services are available, and I've switched between the Guest Account and my account several times to assure the connection is solid.

As was pointed out by others, I believe this is NOT an OTA update per se, but rather a PCM Server update that simply causes us to reconnect.

So far so good.

UPDATE - After reading this thread I located a charging station on the My Porsche App, and tried to send it to the Taycan. It doesn't seem to go through, even though all the other info about the care (e.g., SOC, Temperature, Mileage, Lock status) appears to be correct. Also, Calendar and Weather seem to be working fine (I always had trouble with them before).

I've tried logging out and back in, but so far I can't get the Taycan to accept a charging location from My Porsche. Not a big deal, but if anyone has an idea of how to get that to work let me know.
